I think Always should be done under the trades descriptions act!! According to their adverts "everything" will remain within the central area of the ST. Utter tosh!!

I'm only "heavy" for a couple of days each period, but I can guarantee that even a night-time one doesn't cope all that well.

Sorry if that's too much information!

Lucky for me any "accidents" have pretty much happened at home, but its embarrassing nevertheless. I have reached the staged though when I won't go anywhere on the heavy days!! It's the worst feeling when you stand up......:o

I agree! I used to use two of them, overlapped slightly in the middle, in the hope front and back were as safe as possible from the floods. And a tampon too!

But it just came out the sides instead! :o

I seriously considered using a nappy at one point! And I also tried Tena Lady hoping they'd be better at catching the sudden gush iyswim - made no difference though!

I just wish I'd seen my GP about it long ago as it was the bane of my life for a couple of years! I take tranxemic acid now and it makes such a difference! I was avoiding the world for two days a month too but realised I had to do something a few months back, after it fell on a work day!

And, yes, it's when I get up to, especially if I've been sat a while. This is probably tmi but the clots were massive too! I would have to get up and make a bolt for the toilet, hoping to beat it!

Mine was only ever a couple of days too. Go and see your GP, if you haven't already - it's possible you don't need to put up with that every month.

Another vote for school.... I was in assembly at the time. Luckily my best mate spotted it before anyone else and I turned my skirt around to the front and managed to cover it with my jumper. Thats the only time its ever happened to me though thankfully.

Years ago when I worked in a shop, I nipped out for my lunch to the pie shop next door. Walking down the street was a woman in the shortest skirt I have ever seen and as she walked it rode up. All you could see from behind was the string from her tampax hanging down her leg!!!

I dont look at anyones crotch or backside if thats any help so why would anyone look at yours? I dont mean that funny but other women dont really look at other womens bums :)

Dont worry about it im sure no one looked anyway.

And if a woman did see it im sure she's had the same problem!

I dont like having them either just take my pill all the way through its much easier. I know they are a way of life but they are just disgusting!

    Steph xx

Well, actually, I recall a study which looked at eye movements and found women actually look at other women an awful lot, but it is largely unconscious! I think it was on TV, or could have been a psychology lecture - I can't remember.

They measured the minute eye movements we make and the women looked as though they were looking at something else, and they thought they were too, but they were actually eyeing up breasts, bums, and other features of the women around them!

It happened to me at school once when we were playing tennis in full whites!!!!
I was bending over for the ball and everything was on show eventually a friend noticed and said i think you should go to the toilet.
    I was so mortified!!!!
It was mixed doubles we were playing, i didn't go back to school for a week i was so upset.
Obviously when i got there nobody said a word but i will never forget it!!!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

I have to agree with the other ladies who have recommended mooncups. They're really good andd very reliable. I wore a pad too the first time that I used it, as I was convinced that I'd leak like with tampons, but I was surprised and I didn't leak.

I've nearly always worn dark trousers though, so any leaks haven't been obvious. I felt awfully embarresssed if I leaked in bed though.

To get stains out of clothes - cold salt water works wonders, then a 40/60 degree wash, magic ;)
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

aw bless ya. That is really embarrassing.

If it will make you feel a bit better though, I'll tell you what happened to me - When I was pregnant with my second child (heavily so) I had on one of those tube maternity skirts. Just a tube of stretchy material, really. I was chatting at the door to our (rather good looking, lived opposite us with his aging parents, very popular in the community) window cleaner.
Eldest son, then 18months or so, came up behind me and yanked the skirt right down around my ankles.
So, the window cleaner got to see a lovely shot of my patterned maternity granny knickers.
I can't imagine that he could keep that one to himself ;)
It will soon be forgotten about, as something embarrassing happens to someone else :D. Then, you can laugh at them LOL.
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

It's something I may have to consider sooner or later, though to be honest I'm not sure mine is bad enough. Having spoken with one or two friends of similar age I'm getting away with it fairly lightly! Only little clots and I'm still regular and normal length periods. Don't know how much longer that will be for though! I had a 3 month break last year, and thought "Yes! whoopee" but normality resumed.

At least we no longer have to put up with belts and "long looped bricks" anymore ;) .

I have terrible problems every month.

I am constantly paranoid about flooding, even with tampons and towels.

It always seems to happen overnight and when moving from sitting to standing.

Thankfully though I only seem to have 2 really heavy days at the moment.

My most embarrassing story concerns PE at school.
I was about 12 and had my period and tried to duck out by saying i had no shorts but my male teacher made me take a pair from the box and do the class.
At the end of which i discovered i had had major leakage...everyone in the class must have noticed, even the teacher....cos it was gymnastics we were doing handstands, cartwheels ,trampoline, and worst of all the vaulting horse.

I ran home and didnt go into school the next day cos i thought everyone would be talking about me
