Its straight after you enter your personal details and the MAC Key - it just tells you the the system is down and to try again later.

    Hi

Do the 2 routers available only have wireless routing or are there any Ethernet ports?

    Many Thanks

    payless..don't use mcafee!

    Why?

I use AVG at the moment and was going to change to McAfee when I have o2 Broadband. Is AVG better?

I need help if Eco or anyone else can advise.

At the beginning of the week I signed up to o2 Broadband via Quidco and cancelled my present provider (Supanet) the same day so that I could get my MAC key. My contract with Supanet expires on 27th January, which is when my broadband with them will stop.

However, o2 are being a bit quick and my router is coming today and I should go live with them next Friday 16th. Should I have done things differently to get one service stopped and the other started on the same day? Or can I tell Supanet to switch me off next Friday even though Im still paying to 27th? I sent an email to o2 to ask them this but their reply didn't help really:

From what you've told us it sounds like your account with Supanet will close on 27 January even although you will be moved to O2 on 16 January.

27 January might be your contract end date or it may be that it takes Supanet some time to close down your account after you've switched.

The MAC key you gave us means we're going to get you online on 16 January so it's best to check with Supanet as to why your account will run with them until 27 January.

We hope this helps explain things.

Not really. They don't really tell me what I should do next.

I don't mind losing the 10 days but do I have to tell Supanet to switch off next Friday or will it happen automatically because of o2?

Sorry if I sound thick but Ive never switched before!

and I was looking forward to getting rid of AVG when I got o2.

Which anti virus software is considered the best? Don't know if I want to pay for one really but I may just look into it.

I believe there is a rather large thread relating to this very question...maybe even a sticky....
If you want to stick with the (free) As then Avast or Avira
I'm using Comodo, not because it is the best (almost certainly isn't), but because it has features that I (and almost certainly not you) need...but tomorrow I'm planning on a change....
If I was spending money, then Kapersky would get it.

eco, can you comment at all on plans to roll out more coverage? I noticed a while back that a lot were in the pipeline, but now it's more of a slow trickle, and they apparently already have 70% of the population by picking about 20% of the exchanges. I live somewhere just about surrounded by enabled exchanges, so maybe they won't be back here for a while
