The network key/password should be on the o2 box and in the booklet that came with it - try using that with your phone

your old network is gone - you could use the belkin in place of the o2 box try http://www.adsl2forum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=43

Ok, thanks for that. I am having a problem with the password when trying to change it to enter a new one, it won't let me. So I will get in touch with 02 to sort that out and then try to set up a new network to use with my old router.
Saving, saving, saving - thank you Martin! :money:
  • Hi,

Thanks again for all the replies. Unfortunately I'm stuck paying 23.99 a month with BT for a good while yet.

I phoned o2 to order my broadband and the guy asked me if I had "redcard" or an "adt alarm system". I've got the alarm system, so the guy told me I couldnt get o2 broadband because I had this system. He also told me I couldnt get broadband through any other ISP other than BT because of the system.

Are there any other options for me? Virgin don't have fibre optic on my street and its looking like 2012 before bt roll-out fibre optic. Any other suggestions?

Has anyone had any success with BT retentions to get their broadband prices down?

    Hi there,
I have constantly been checking with O2 as I would like to change to their supply, but they continually tell me there is nothing in my area. Are there plans to go countrywide or does it depend whether my local exchange has the ability? I am with Pipex at the moment and finish 12 month contract at the beginning of February. My local exchange is Lydd, Kent (01797). Thanks

You could take up the plusnet 90 day money back guarantee mentioned in post #122 above in the hope your exchange comes on line before the 90 days are up.

If the exchange doesn't upgrade, then move on to your next choice - you will have had 3 months free from plusnet.
  • I'm not an O2 customer - I have Orange mobile. But I want to get O2 broadband, if possible with the lower rate for O2 customers.

Does anyone know how to get this status as cheap as possible?

Get an o2 PAYG. Top up £10 every 3 months.

Is anyone else suffering from low speeds after 5/6pm? For the last week or so my speed has dropped from 15,000 Kbps to 3000Kbps. Not sure if this is a one off or due to congestion?
