I hope you can advise me. I've just joined 02 broadband and have set up the Thompson box. I am on the basic subscription. However I wanted to set up my own router, a belkin n, as I need to use my mobile to connect to the internet from time to time from home. I had my own password for my old connection. However due to the automatic set-up of the 02 box, and not being a techie, I have no idea where my orignial network has gone or how to connect my belkin router to it. Any ideas?
your old network is gone - you could use the belkin in place of the o2 box try http://www.adsl2forum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=430 -
Although 02 said broadband should go live on the 20th nothing has happened yet. Do we wait for a text message on our 02 mobile? ThanksSaving money right, left and centre0

yes, router show red lights and should be green. We're only just live with BT about 4days ago but they're saying they need to send an engineer for final set up, no idea why!

Just a quick note concerning the set up of the O2 hub ... in the information it explains that there should be no real need to go into the setup area of the hub but if you want/need to then it gives you an address to enter into your browser and points you to the base of the hub for the user name and password to log onto it. If, like the one I received today, your user name is administrator with a blank password (ie you don't need to use one) please do yourself a favour and log in and change it to something far more difficult for someone to crack. There are bot searches looking for hubs set up without passwords and administrator as user name so please change it ASAP."I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. Lulu,
In the process of actually applying you should have received an email stating that on the 20th you will receive an email and a text message. Obviously, this hasn't happened. Hopefully by now, you should have your new router. There is a freephone number to ring
0800 230 0202 or 800 230 0202 from an 02 mobile. Clearly something has gone wrong and you need to speak to them.
I have just been connected today and I have to say it was a breeze. They have been so efficient from the day I applied, I was actually waiting for something to go wrong. Its been a long time since any Company has been 'on the ball' so to speak and I'm really impressed. Hope this helps and you get sorted. Sally0 -

It might also be worth mentioning that O2 do have an official forum, you can find it here -

We haven't seen eco21 since Edinburghlass posted that warning.
Shame really, he was helpful, and didn't try any advertising etc.0 -
If you go via Quidco you get £75 cash back which is good.
If you an O2 mobile customer i think you get a further £3 off per month on your broadband.
To correct some mistakes:
Quidco cashback only £25 since 19/1/09.
O2 mobile customers get £5 off a month.
The quidco cashback does regularly change (its been £25/£60/£70 recently).
Here's a wheeze to try and catch it at its best.
Get a MAC and take it to Plusnet. They have a 90 day no questions asked money back guarantee. Watch out for a better cashback (than the current £25) for o2 from Quidco, and a soon as it comes take advantage of the Plusnet guarantee. (Should it look like no better offer is coming, then switch to o2 before the 90 days are up - you will at least have had 3 months free broadband).0
