It is worth a try but I would ring asap because Tesco would not give me an online discount when I rang. It was a couple of years ago but I got a quote online but when I went to buy my internet kept playing up so I called them and they would not give me the online discount

Daughter phoned HSBC this afternoon, hinted that she would probably have to close her account and move to Barclays. Advisor did few checks and told her she could have Maestro card no problem and upped her withdrawal limit from cash machine (which she didn't even ask for ). Sad that they won't respond when faced with a reasonable moderate approach and you have to resort to threats. Not particularly impressed.

Another query about HSBC Debit Cards - I have my joint account at HSBC and I use my Maestro a lot for food shopping etc.. But my boyfriend rarely uses his. He tried to use it today to take some money out of a cashpoint and it said his card did not do this service (it was a HSBC machine) - anybody heard of a debit card not dispensing money is this right. He used it to pay for fuel the other week no problem?

I've just received my Debit Card for the HSBC Plus account I opened a few days ago. They've given me a Maestro with £100 cheque gurantee. :)

It expires July 2010. I doubt we'll be given a CG Card when they roll out Visa. I don't intend on asking for a Visa card until mine expires anyway.

I've just transfered most of my money into my HSBC account, then realised I haven't got a PIN for the card yet. Oops!

I think they're the same. I think I'm the only 18 year old with a HSBC Plus account. That either makes me unique or a mug. :rotfl:

I had one when I was 18. Although to be fair, that hardly places you in good company... ;)
