    If you lose your Maestro card, will you be sent a Visa card or would they re-issue a Maestro?

    It'd be replaced with a Visa Debit, as shown above, bearing the £100 CG logo.

    dstart, thanks so much for showing the new HSBC visa card. Are you on Current Advance account with HSBC?

    Yeah, this is a joint Current Advance account. Your account number and sortcode are displayed at the bottom of which I have blurred.

    I'm going to ask if they can renew my own HSBC Plus account to the Visa. I current have a CG £100 Maestro. Does anyone know if should I get a different Visa card?

    Shelfy - what happens with student accounts? Will the same benefits be there for those that deposit £500 a month?

    I honestly don't know offhand, I'm afraid.

    I don't want a Visa Debit Card replacement, I am quite happy with my existing Maestro Card.

    It works just fine.;)

    OK, a question please;

    When I use my Maestro Card to purchase foreign currency I do not get charged to use it, can anyone confirm that this situation will remain with a Visa Debit Card?

    When I used to be with another bank who had visa debit cards I got charged for currency conversion. My girlfriend who had a HSBC Mastreo card did not, apparently (according to the lady working there) Visa make a charge to the vendor where as Maestro do no.
