I think the cards starting with 4659 are the 2 in 1 cards, no cheque ok function.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Just phoned HSBC to order a new Visa Debit card to replace my HSBC Plus Maestro card. I was told that they have to send a new PIN out as well, as it's a totally different system and my current PIN will not be valid with the new card. She also sent me out a statement early, as one of the businesses that pay money into my account have asked for a copy of my statement, and as I only opened the account 2 weeks ago, I haven't got a statement yet.

Got to love HSBC Plus - Hello Mr X, how can I help you tonight.

From other threads on the subject, 4659 = All Authorised, i.e. like Electron.

Does that mean my new First Direct visa debit card will have to authorise every transaction because it begins 4659?
  • Anyone got any pictures of the HSBC Plus Visa Card?

According to Wikipedia, 4659 10 range belongs to Lloyds TSB, 4659 22 range to Barclays - so what does HSBC have?
