I'm joining next week - looking forward to it as my present ISP has deteriorated badly. Am getting 3 months free and do not presently have an o2 mobile. Does anyone know if I am able to get the discount if I buy a payg mobile during the Summer, or is this discount only applied when you first join? Have read conflicting information on forums.

Just call Customer Services with your new number once you get it.

Donnie's already told you the answer - ie YES via the 0800 Support.

It MAY be possible to add the number online too - just look on the www.o2.co.uk website under My Broadband.

It is ALSO possible to update/change the o2 number to another later - I did it myself with one simple phone call.

You WILL need to get your o2 PAYG number setup (or a friend's it does NOT have to be in your name or address, just they send a validation SMS to the # and you need the validation code to feedback to them) so that you can top up £10 in time - ie 3 days before your first CHARGEABLE billing date - ie once your free 3m is running out.

I would only caution that the current £70 Quidco has no SPECIFIED expiry date, and MIGHT fall at any time - has been as little as £25. You do NOT need your MAC at the time you place your order - so if/when you are sure it may be time to act to secure the current cashback and 3m free.

Thanks for that - sounds like a great deal. Pretty impressed so far. I didn't get the Quidco deal which was foolish of me, but 3 months free and saving £15/month on my present broadband costs is pretty good anyway.

My line is due to be changed from Virgin to BT on Tuesday. Just hope the £70 cashback lasts until then! Good to know you can order as soon as its activated..thanks!
Line was activated by engineer today and I ordered O2 broadband soon after. Order went through OK however I later got a text telling me that my broadband will be activated by 18th May and my welcome pack will be sent by then. Was hoping it would be activated ASAP :(

Just noticed this on Quidco website:
O2 Home Broadband £70 cashback ends Wednesday midnight.
Doesn't give a date but I'm assuming it means tomorrow. Get in quick if you want the cashback! 3 months free + £70 cashback is the best deal I've seen in a long time.

I ordered mine on Friday and mine isn't due to be activated til 19th May, so you're doing not bad. I think 6 days is pretty impressive if they stick to that, and who knows you might get earlier.

I got a txt at 7am this morning saying my router would arrive today, and it did so watch out for the same tomorrow maybe. Once you get it o2 will give you a tracking number - they even offered to phone the courier company for me to make sure I'd get it today. Impressed so far.

It usually takes about a week or so for them to activate it
