You don't actually need your MAC when you apply, you can let o2 have it later.

But surely that means quidco may not be paid out, as you have to call them later to give your MAC code? Quidco only pays out if all the transaction is done online? Anyone had problems with this?

The problem with this is that "all the transaction" isn't defined by quidco. So if the cashback was rejected, and part was carried out online and part on the phone, you'd have no argument.

excxellent deal... but i need the MAC code from Sky and that will surely take more than a week to come through :(

According to a previous post in this thread Sky say its takes 48 hours so you would be better getting on to Sky sooner rather than later :)

No, you don't call them with your MAC code. Once you've registered and set up an O2 Broadband account online, you'll be reminded that you still haven't supplied your MAC code. When you receive it, you simply log in to your account and enter your MAC code when prompted, which sets the ball rolling to activate your line. ;)

If you get a 'nice' Sky person, they will give you your MAC code over the phone as happened to me.

Yes, they told me that last Monday too.

They finally gave me the code over the phone last night.

It only took: 10 days, 47 phonecalls, 23 hours and 48 minutes, 39 disconnections, 20 routings to the wrong department, 2 formal complaints, 52 call centre staff, 2 managers, a compensation payment of £30 and a lovely girl called Yvonne to get it.

Worth it? We'll see when the letter of complaint gets answered ;)

PS - Even though I signed up for O2 when cashback through quidco was £50, it's validated at £70 :D

I ordered last night and it's gone through at £70.

I ordered a BT line last week and although BT line is not on Quidco I visited via the BT broadband link and got £4.50 cash back for the new line! It's been validated already too!

Edit - Now changed to £60.

I'm currently paying Ukonline £19.99 a month, but could get O2 on the £9.79 deal as I'm out contract.

Looking around it seems only good things are being said about O2's home broadband, so I reckon I'm going to give it a go.

Is there are reason that people can think of why I shouldn't change ?
