Amex Nectar: What to do if you didnt get 6000 points!

I did everything correctly and spent on the card before the end of December. I have had 2000 nectar points added to my account. As suggested on listings I checked my American Express account under Rewards and still only 2000 showing. Martin said would be given the 4000 owing by end of this week but I have not had as yet. Do I wait for next statement?0

I had to call them twice to get any points added.. Some nice lady rang me back and told me they had looked into it and the points would be added shortly.. and they did.0

Well we are now a week on! What happens now?0

Hey, what was the deal with the free Nectar Points. I applied for a card but haven't spent on it yet and have been credited with 1000 points. When do you have to spend by to get 6000 points then? Confused!0

sorry seeve,
you had to spend on the card by Dec 31st (2005!)Irene0 -
Sorry clarejoanne if I've upset you - mean it!
I suppose I just can't get over the impatience of people wanting everything done 'right now'. My guess is that Amex Nectar have been swamped with applications (not least thanks to MSE!) and haven't been able to cope. It happens all the time - not just with them. In addition, you are quite right, they don't come over very efficient.
But the fact remains that we will all get our 6000 points and, if we don't, Martin will take up the cudgels for us. It just requires waiting and, as I said a little while ago, what's the hurry?
I am afraid I can't behave exactly as Martin suggests - buy a Mars bar, get your points and cut the card up. It's not in my nature to be so ruthless.
So I feel it's only right to put a little bit of business their way by buying at least some things on their card.
But what's easy to overlook is that there is some benefit from their card. If you shop at Sainsbury's or Debenham's or Adams kids amongst others (as many of us do), paying with the Amex Nectar card gets you double Nectar points which are worth cash. Using the card for anything else gets you single points.
I'm faced with a pleasant quandary at the moment. Pay by Amex Nectar which gets me 'money back' in due course or by my Sainsbury's card, where I don't pay anything back till early autumn (apart from a negligible 3% per month).

Yes Schiff......... friends
I'm not really that bothered about the points, as I only spent £23 on it and got 2000 points so I can't argue with that.
Last year I earned over £250 from offers, reward sites and surveys! :T0 -
clarejoanne - sigh of relief!0

Hi Clarejoanne! I am curious to know which surveys gave you any rewards. I am constantly offered to fill in surveys, by email or post. I have done a few and what I find is that then you are swamped with telephone calls (about 3 per day, every day of the week) trying to sell you anything from roof isolation to mobile telephones...
I have stopped doing surveys at all, I believe they are an excuse to target potential customers, but would do them if they did produce any benefits or rewarded you for the time invested. Thanks!0 -
