I would suggest we all hold till the end of this week. Then next monday have a check again. If no satisfaction then - i'll get back on to them

  • I used several numbers...
    0800 700 702 (India, I think)
    01273 873 873
    0845 600 5210
Hope you find one of them usefull. The 0845 number was the last and probably most successful response.

    Good Luck !!

sabre - sorry if I made it seem easy!

When I phoned today it was clear that my record showed that I had applied via MSE.
It was agreed that from that I qualified for 6000 points.
The lad I spoke to was called Stephen, with an English accent, and he was charming.

I think you just have to keep trying and, assuming you have the time to waste, the 0800 number costs you nothing.

    Best of luck!

I'm still 4,000 points short, I've called them 3 or 4 times, wrote to them.

I have been promissed loads of times I'll get my missing 4,000 points but I ve just logged onto my Nectar account and it still only shows 2000 points.

This is really starting to p*ss me off.
  • I too have only 2000 points. I shall wait until Monday and then ring them. If I have no satisfaction I will just cancel the card........ :p

Cheggers - I've not got my 4000 extra points either, but I've been told I'll get them (see above). That satisfies me. Why do we have to be impatient - getting the points today can't be that vital surely?

    The method again:

    1) phone them on the free 0800 number I've given above. You can be on all day and it costs you nothing. Give them your personal and card details.

    2) ask them if your record there indicates that you applied via the link on the MSE website. If they say yes (as they should) point out to them that applying by that method should bring you 6000 Nectar points - and you have only been credited with 2000.

Ask them to confirm that the extra points will be allocated to you and, when they confirm this, ask them to say approximately when this allocation will take place. Make a note of what they say. Ask them for their name, make a note of it, and of the date and time you phoned and the phone number you used. Store this information safely then make a diary note for three working days after the 'allocation of points' date they gave you - then open a bottle of wine or whatever else you do and forget it.

Check your points on the Amex website and the Nectar website when your diary day arrives and if they are still not there, phone again. Pointing out firmly but pleasantly that you were promised the points for that date.
    And so on.

It worked for me - and I don't think I was especially lucky - and from jeeves' post today it worked for him/her (looks like a her from the little picture and an attractive her at that). Let's know how you get on.

clarejoanne - another example of extreme impatience. It isn't worth it. And now you are considering a 'cutting nose off face' reaction!

    Schiff:
    1. Martin does ask us to refrain from making personal remarks
    2. The use of a comic icon after a post surely means it's not to be taken too seriously
    3. What's 'cutting off one's nose' got to do with getting rid of a card that's badly managed and that people only signed up for to get 6000 nectar points........................

I have only received 2000 points and after reading the post by Jeeves decided to give American Express a ring on the number supplied. I spoke to a nice lady called Julie, who said that I should receive the missing points on my third statement! I pointed out that this was not what the offer said and explained that there were more people in similar positions to me. She asked if I knew them and I told her not personally, but there was an interesting website run by Martin Lewis called Money Saving Expert. She confessed that she had not heard of it but would have a look and get back to me. Ten minutes later she phoned back saying that she could not find anything on the site regarding American Express, and could I direct her to where this was mentioned. I gave her the URL for this thread. After five minutes she phoned back to say that it seemed to be a big problem and that she would have to make futher enquiries with a department that was not in until Monday. In conclusion, she said that she would phone me on either Monday or Tuesday with the answer. As she has phoned twice and is aware of this website, I have no reason to think that she will not phone me as promised. Perhaps she will also subscribe to Martins weekly email.
    To Dare is To Do:beer:
  • Me and my oh both subscribed to this offer and both received only 2000 points each on the last statements. I rang cs in the month and they promised the extra points would be allocated with the next statement (due in 2 or 3 days time). Having checked Nectar the points still haven't been allocated but having had a look at "rewards" on the amex login it does show that 6020 points have been earned on the account but only 2020 transferred to Nectar at the moment, so I am assuming that the extra points will be transferred when my statement is sent out.

My point is that if this is the case for me then it's probably the same for many others. My suggestion would be to register for online services with Amex and check your card and rewards online rather than besiege Amex CS.

I WILL be complaining if the points aren't transferred next week!
