Cheeky - they LIKE you to take 3 mos worth of folic acid, but it's not required. I would just start taking that and ttc whenever you're ready. You don't need the Pregnacare right away. Just the folic acid really, which is much less expensive than the Pregnacare.

And we'll warn ya, Pregnacare are BIG tablets! *shudder* I got some Folic Acid tablets, tiny tiny ones in a sweetner type dispenser (green and white packet) from Boots for about £4.50 for 90 tablets.

Also can anyone recommend a book for me and the wife as we have got no idea of what to do when they are born and what different stages they go through. (eg. how many nappies do they use in a day?)

My favourite "baby" author is Dr Sears. You can read his website - AskDrSears.com - or you can buy his books, definitely from Amazon but presumably other bookstores too. Just be aware he is an American paediatrician so you may have to look up a few words or work out what the different medicine brands are (e.g. Tylenol = paracetamol = Calpol).

hi ladies, haven't been on over the weekend, so just off to catch up on the news.

can somone tell my bubs to move himself to a different position because i have quite easily been going to the loo WAY too frequently over the weekend.

AF - can you get him to move? I find getting on all fours and waving my bum in the air often shifts him, or lying flat on my back with feet up, and raising bum and wiggling it. If he is too high or too low, I do these things till I get him in a nicer position.

Good news :) I enquired about NCT classes when I was 15 weeks, but all places were booked. The planned a new class, but it was too far for me to travel to (it was for my town, but was taking place in a different town!). I spoke to a lady today, and they've squeezed me in here! Just got to hope that OH will tag along. It starts in March, so hopefully he'll feel up to it then.

I'm having a tough weekend. Physhically feel pretty awful, and pretty sad too. Hopefully its just a bug, and not the depression coming back. Fingers crossed.

lil monkey I would take the pills for at least a month or two before you start trying! The folic acid you take before TTC is more important than what you takle in the first trimester but if like me you get bad morning sickness (and I hope you don't!) then you might not absorb much of it in the first trimester and you will be relying on what you already have in your system IYSWIM?
a balanced diet certainly helps but as you have the oppertunerty to give yourself the best set up you can when it comes to preparing your body then in hindsight I wish I had done so a little more rigorously :)
