I guess you can;t get ones with sides that drop down for co-sleeping then, if they rock? Oh there's so much to think about!
Skintchick, you can get ones that dont rock hun. Also see one somewhere that is one of those co sleeping ones. When or should I say if I remember I will PM you.
ETA Sorry didnt see you had already found some.

Cheeky - yes, you should definitely take the folic acid, at the very least starting now if you are looking at ttc'ing in the next 3 months. Then you continue taking it throughout the first trimester. Something to consider - many women wait awhile, sometimes into their early 30's, and then unfortunately find out they have some fertility problems (or their DH does). Then the clock starts ticking as there are age limits for assistance such as IUI and IVF on the NHS. At this point, you are young enough where if you do run into fertility problems (obviously here's hoping you have no problems at all!), you have a bit more time on your side to fix it and get back to ttc.
Also, do you have a car? When I lived in a first floor flat, I kept the pushchair folded up in the boot of the car, and just carried the baby down in the travel seat that snapped into the pushchair. Worked just fine. But trust me, you work out your own system as to what works best for you on lugging stuff up and down stairs. With a baby, you're always lugging stuff everywhere anyway! :rotfl:MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

That would be great, thanks. We have six months to find something so there's no rush!
Sami - OH and I already share the bed with the cat who sleeps bewteen us and we only have a standard double so I'd be too afraid of squashing the baby or pushing it out of bed to have it in with us. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Skinty this is what I tried to describe http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Delight-Inc-Supreme-Snuggle/dp/B000BM8FXG%3FSubscriptionId%3D14H876SFAKFS0EHBYQ02%26tag%3Dhubpages-20%26linkCode%3Dsp1%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB000BM8FXG
sorry if its no use.
Have to say I think ur best getting the cat out of your bedroom now as its more likely to get jealous of baby went it arrives if you don't (and on a more personal note yukI don't 'do' animals in the house esp upstairs) Maybe you'll find a second hand dropside crib somewhere tho?

Ta Triggles. My parents had terrible probs getting me - were told they'd never have kids, so I was their little miracle
We do have a car. Well....I have *my* car and we have *our* car, hehe. We spent some of our savings and bought a new car (well, new to us) a few mths back to be a family car, big enough for kids and with a HUGE boot to fit all sorts of baby stuff to allow for travelling with 2kids
I initally wanted to get pregnant last yr, but for a few reasons I put it off (family stuff was affecting me too much emotionally). Now, I really feel ready and am really excited about the thought of getting pregnant and having my own little bundle rather than getting totally broody over friends' babies!!
Not sure how I'd cope with morning sickness in work tho, we'd be of the 'we're not telling til we're 12wks' kinda ppl - but where I work it'd be impossible to be running to the loo all the time without ppl guessing
Soo....min 3mths of pregnacare or such likes?? I better go get some tomorrow then. So, just incase we were lucky and got preg 1st month of trying - we shouldn't start trying for 3mths????? Or if I started taking it now....if say end Jan/early feb would be my 'fertile window' - could we try then?!?!?! Eep, I'm getting rather excited at the prospect!!!!0 -
ooh also skinty on the program "bringing up baby" the mum who was following the continuum parenting 'rules' had the baby on the edge of the bed with a bed rail like this http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-soft-fold-down-bed-guard/dp/B000TEVNDU/sr=1-1/qid=1231708172/ref=sr_1_1/280-5010666-1617922?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42870041&mcb=core
as long as u don't smoke, drink, take drugs and i know ur not overweight its pretty safe, I used to have chris in bed wth us when he wasn't settling and we never came close to squishing him0 -

The textbook idea is you stop hormonal contraception (come off the pill, let your injection run out or have the implant taken out, etc), then use condoms and take folic acid for three months, then stop using condoms and start trying. That's supposed to be enough time to get all the artifical hormones out of your body and for your own cycle to resettle itself. That said, it takes some women ages to get their fertility back and some comes back almost the next day after they stop the pill.. I guess there's no way of telling, unless you've come off something before and know how long it took to get back to normal
As for the morning sickness, you might be "lucky" and have it in the evenings only0 -

for info on ttcing look at the ttc thread on here, on a personal note I suggest lurking for a bit first in case you get preg first go ( I didn't lurk just posted away then got preg 1st go and felt like I was rubbing it in the face of the ones having trouble)

hi elle_gee - I tried the pill when we got married, and it messed with my mood far too much, so haven't used it for over 2yrs now. Nothing to come outta my system in that we. We only ever use condoms, knowing if we had gotten pregnant before now, it wouldn't have been the end of the world
I might be lucky and not get any sickness, sounds better than any time of day sickness!! But since I can be in work from 8 til 8 kinda thing, that kinda covers most of the day!! Ah well.0 -
Cheeky - they LIKE you to take 3 mos worth of folic acid, but it's not required. I would just start taking that and ttc whenever you're ready. You don't need the Pregnacare right away. Just the folic acid really, which is much less expensive than the Pregnacare.
As for telling work, a lot of it depends on what type of job you have. If there is shiftwork, then you need to tell them sooner. I worked in shiftwork when I was pregnant with DS, and they had to alter my shifts, as they would not let me work before 8am or after 10pm. If you are at a physical job or exposed to hazards at work of any kind (chemicals, fumes, smoke) you need to tell them sooner also.
Good luck!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
