oh thankyou got2change,
and would you belive after lots of searching, theres a place about 30 miles away that rescues wildlife, ( shame vets didnt tell us bout that one?,since she said she'd look to see if anyone nearby), id have driven there straight away)
anyway, will give them a phone.

they have a 24hr helpline, off to phone now,
soooo upset that vet didnt have/give this no.

Let us know what they say/do!!
And maybe it's a new/locum vet? (benefit of the doubt and all...) - you could give them the details for future use in case they don't have them

got2change yep you got the place.
phoned, and they are all busy this weekend, and cannot help,
but told us what we are doing is correct etc,
lilacpixie, maybe vets same as you, just didnt know, will def give them the details.will look up deer centre now.
