Get in touch with the trading bargains site and maybe try ebay for
whichever of the minori oak or minori walnut that you seek
a lot of the clearance stores carry different stock, so try scoping out a few of them...Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0 -
Thanks to martins info on section 75, claiming on yourcredit card we eventually received money owing to us that was compensation for the substandared kitchen MFI fitted. We had taken our case to the furniture ombudsman after MFI refused to accept responsibility for the kitchen and after 6 long months were awarded half compensation which we agreed to. Then MFI went into liquidation and we thought we had no chance for getting the money. However the ombudsman said we may have a chance if we responded to section 75 act of the credit card. Using the template from this site we sent off all the dretails we had sent the ombudsman and after a lenght time (4months) we received a letter to say we would be given the compensatin amount. The delay was because the case was complicated. We were very pleased at this finding and it was because of this site that we kept on with our grivences against MFI. A huge thankyou to Martin and his team.0

Hey everyone this is my first post i have read through many pf the posts but hopefully someone can give me an answer , I will try to keep this as short as possible.
We were one of the luckier ones we bought a Kitchen in which was fitted(ish) in August 2008, we got the finance through the dreaded MFi Slate (Blackhorse).
We have scratches to cupboards and work surface, a wobbly tap, an electrical socket hanging off the wall, Outside tap not working now(seems a common problem!!!!), plastering not done, and also cannot get in touch with AIG to see if the extracare cover payed for will be honoured.
Rightly or Wrongly i have now ceased my direct debit instruction to Blackhorse as i am not willing to pay for an unfinished/Dangerous(Electrical Socket) kitchen.
Also we had a problem with our washing machine it was under 12 months old so Hotpoint did come out directly, but with it being a built in Washer the fitter in his will and wisdom had glued the plinth on underneath it and hotpoint would not repair the washer till we got this off so i had no option but to force this item off thus damaging it.
I am aware that compared to alot of people these issues are very small and some would think ill of me even posting but i want to know where i stand.
Thanks in advance

You have stopped that d/d wrongly! I'm really not sure what you can do about your fitting problems but they don't sound huge - frankly, stopping your d/d is going to cost you damage to your credit rating and money in admin fees from Black Horse - it might be better to pay out for something constructive than on charges and fees? The department that will deal with you defaulting are not the people that would be able to help you fix your kitchen - I cannot see any good result from cancelling your d/d.
Some of those issues should have been addresses with the fitter at the time, no? I can imagine you having a hard time with a solvent MFI trying to get those things sorted outlet alone now.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hello
I've seen this asked two times but can't see an answer from anyone, so just trying again ........
I bought a display kitchen from Mfi in the first wave of closures - it wasn't large enough, but I knew I could purchase the additional units/parts from the Exeter store which was staying open. In fact the Taunton branch where I bought had huge displays giving the Exeter address/info and also they gave all buyers a leaflet entitling them to a 10% discount off Mfi purchases at other stores, knowing people needed bits & pieces to make the kitchens 'fit'.
Obviously the staff didn't know. I'm not in your position where I paid for stuff I didn't get. I got the kitchen I paid for - but I only bought on the basis it could be added to. I'm not sure where this leaves me. I have an incomplete kitchen - I've looked on ebay/googled but can't find the extra's I need.
If I can't get the extra's/units - I can't get the kitchen fitted because it won't 'fit', so I'll have wasted the money & have an unwanted kitchen sitting in the garage. Have I any come-back on the administrators/credit card or is it just tough luck ?
The TAMARIND kitchen you quoted is in the Exeter 'ex-mfi' store right now - I am going to buy one this afternoon - go get one too! See you there!0 -
Hi
I agree you shouldn't have stopped the D/D. As you paid by Slate you are covered by Section 75 - check out Martin's site as he provides template letters. You didn't get what u paid for and also it is not fit for purpose. I was in a similar position where my kitchen was fitted with some doors damaged / missing. I followed the advice on the site and got back £850.....I then managed to complete the kitchen from trading bargains site for about £70.
Let me know if I can help more.....
