Am I right that I have seen Diplomat appliances for sale in Ex MFI showrooms through trading bargains.Surely these appliances are being sold with a warranty/guarantee!What is the code for the appliance you are having problems with?I will try and find out from that.

I would like to thank cricketgem for sound advice. Hope you are able to read this, HSBC have just replied to my letter under law 75 and offered to refund the total amount I paid. I do hope you have had the same good news. best regards Von:beer:0

Hi
Ive just received a letter as well from HSBC settling the full amount claim. It just goes to show that if you keep up the pressure they do eventually settle the claim.

I wish I knew what to do and how to speak to someone with regards to getting a refund...
I paid £230 for a bed on my Maestro Debit Card.
I have been reading the MFI website in order to try and find a contact number or an email address or something to try and request a refund, but if my understanding is correct, the Administrator has all the details and he may contact you some time in the future... ?
This is not fair - surely they have an obligation to refund customers who are out of pocket?
does anyone have a contact number for the liquidators (other than the 01405 744 813 number that was originally given out on the MFI website)
khinde so you have a number for Dan Cordina?? help me out pleaseI have just spoken to Dan Cordina, at MCR today regarding MfI. It has Taken 3 months, to speak to someone, Anyway if like me you payed your money by debit card and it did not reach their bank account before they went into administration, their is a good chance you can get your money back, Not deposit if paid before. The 30m that is in a fund can only be released when the people that have paid by credit have been refunded. This should be done by October. I have written to Watchdog and the Sun newspaper, maybe if we all do this someone will listen.0 -

Sorry but I dont think you are. I think the only refunds are people who paid on credit card and they got their refunds from their credit cards rather than MFI.0 -

You may be lucky. I paid the deposit for our kitchen on a debit card with Barclays and have received that back, however the banks are not legally entitled to refund you and unlike a credit card it only covers the exact amount you paid by card. (we paid £2000 in cash which looks like we've lost!!) If you go to the chargeback section on here you can download a template of the letters. Worth a try.
Hope you're lucky xx0
