Hi purchased a display bathroom suite for £1500 from mfi, delighted with my bargain, however when purchasing i was not informed that major parts were missing and was mislead into thinking i got a bargain.
Recently Enquired about buying these parts and they are quite expensive.
Does anyone know how i stand.

They were probably sold on an 'as seen' basis, so I expect you're not entitled to anything. You could try the list of ex-MFI stock on The Range website to see if there's anything available? If there's anything left then it's likely to be odds and ends of fittings, so you might be lucky.

    Hi
I can't find the answer to this question anywhere on here - so -
has anybody who took out Black Horse finance and received an incomplete order had any contact from the administrators or are you all in the same position as me?
We are due to start paying for this soon and don't know where we stand!
Have emailed them a few times but never had a reply!

Do you mean you bought your kitchen using HP? If so, then the HP company are the actual owners of the kitchen and any problem with the administrator is up to them to sort out.
I once rang Trading Standards to ask for help on a colleague's behalf - he had bought a car on HP, it broke down next day and garage refused to help - TS told me to contact the HP company by letter, tell them what happened and ask them what they intend to do about it. The HP company took over and got the garage to sort the problem. I don't see why it would be different for a kitchen. In the case of the car, the loan was secured on the car, so the owner wasn't allowed to 'own' the car until he'd paid about 3/4 of the loan. If you haven't got all of the kitchen then they can't claim their 'money's worth' back if you should default on the payments.

I have a MFI kitchen bought under a Section 75 credit transaction. It is within the statutory guarantee period. The hob and oven are faulty. Clearly I can't go back to MFI. Does anyone know if the credit company (Black Horse) are responsible for replacement. Obviously BLack Horse is a bank but do they have a duty to sort it out?
  • Hi Can anyone help, i was an MFI fitter and basically like many of us they owe me over £1000, i have just spoken to the administrators and they say that their is no money available to pay my bill. can we do anything ???????? Billy

    Well we have a result!
We were missing the mirror panels for our wardrobe doors. MCR phoned to say that they are now able to get them through the trading bargains site (trading bargains told me back in Feb they couldn't help me so don't know where they have 'found' the panels!!)
They have now credited my Blackhorse account with the cost for buying them from trading bargains plus a £100 extra for 'goodwill'.
As I now have my bedroom complete and £100 extra I am quite happy!
