There's alot of people out there with similair problems to me but i have a problem with a Diplomat cooker hood model No ABA2340. I never got an instruction manual or carbon filters with it and it's hardly done any use at all.
It has a small led screen with 6 speed fan and when i switch it on it now flashes from the speed to an A. Under warranty but useless now! Anyone any ideas or contact information to get manual or help with this appliance. Would apprieciate any help. Thanks0 -
well when mfi went tits up so did all the warrantys and getting things fixed. as to spares just goooooooogled and up came ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=MFI+Diplomat+&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_dmpt=UK_Home_Garden_Kitchen_Ovens_Hobs_Cookers&_odkw=MFI+Diplomat+extractor+cooker+hood&_osacat=0
the reason i know this when i was going to buy my mfi kitchen ordered a dimplomat slimline intergrated dishwasher heard all the news on telly after ordering all on sat before hand so they told me diplomat was there own brand serviced by there people i said if mfi goes belly up what would happen to servicing spares etc they said highly unlikely but if did would be no spares support etc. so i changed to bosch instead ended up with they could not deliver half the kitchen the night before due lucky for me managed to get refund that night thursday went belly up friday night if mem serves me right.
the only other option is phone a repair spare shop see what they can tell you but i think you get carbon filters but that be about it
you is lucky a bit http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/products/26/131/49772/list.htm

sorry i should have been more clear but if you read carefully was directly ref to the diplomat brand as it was there own brand and made by themsleves and nobody else. also mfis engineers that where employed directly by them where left being owed money and no where to get spare parts from with the general execption of the parts that have been sold off by the adminstrators here and there. so basically the point i was trying to get across which you have seemed to completely missed if you got diplomat you have servicing issues that will only ever get worse and yes the warranties on the diplomat brand are completely and utterly worthless thats why i changed on my order to a bosch appliance knowing that bosch more than llikely would support the product as they would own and supply parts. The reason i know all of this the manager of the store told me this when pressed also i used to have access to a mfi staff forum and they where all saying it there as well. so i hope i have cleared that all up for you.0 -
I have just read the latest report, from what i can tell it looks like they are going to use this last 6 months to get what they can pay themselves and then get out.
The report hints at seperating MCR from the company so that the remainder of MFI goes into "Dissolution", this will mean that MCR pays itself about a million out of the remaining funds then jumps ship and will no longer be liable in handing out any possible refunds to "unsecured creditors".
I lost £3,000 to MFI and have been living in a house with no kitchen, and unable to afford one because of them, and now it looks like no "unsecured creditors" are going to get anything back at all!
I have written to BBC watchdog and am in the process of trying to contact get the media interested, and suggest that people still waiting for their refunds do the same.
MCR could pull out at any time now, and once that is done i doubt anyone will see a penny back.0 -
hi there people.....
i've read through alot of your articles and sympathise completely as me and my husband were ripped off xmas 2008 after buying a £15,000 kitchen in the sept previously that we paid cash for. We were constantly pestered to buy from the company after a visit to the store as we were lookin for a new kitchen with our life savings... we were reasured that they would be the best place to deal with and that we would not be dissapointed and it couldnt of been further fron the truth as we later learnt after they took our money off us (cash)they already knew they were going bust. We recieved part delivery to the value of £4,000 in nov 2008. We were then told we would recieve the rest a week before xmas which never materialised. Ive never heard a thing since. It seems our cash will be used to pay off the credit card companies how can this be legal...We are still owed £11,000 and not even one sorry has been sent our way... is there anyone else in our position that paid cash who would like to set up a some sort of plan of action to try to get back what where rightfully owed...... thanks for listening denise0 -
hi , denise , we too paid cash although nowhere near the amount u did . we paid up NOV 08 and should have had a delivery DEC 08 . when i found out they were going bust ( via the news ) i rang them up . they said they had half !! of the kitchen if i wanted it ( i refused ) . having filled in the refund claim form and sending it back JAN 09, still i havent heard a thing . i keep checking the MCR web site for updates , but there hasnt been one since 17th DEC 09. NO-ONE SEEMS TO CARE. i still havent got a kitchen as i carnt afford to buy one yet , so bare plaster and a double cupboard and the sink , cooker and washer are all i have to look at, although iv got used to it . but its so frustrating.:mad::mad:0

like the last few posts I also paid cash for our kitchen and had to take a loan out to purchase another one. I can't believe that nothing is being done to help people. When fair pack went into administration losing customers christmas savings, the government helped out. (quite rightly too I might add). However even though a house is only classed as habitable with a bathroom and kitchen, people are still without them and nothing has been mentioned. Bdeed - i too contacted watchdog when it was announced refunds were looking unlikely but never got a response. Hope you have better luck than me. xx0
