MFI Administration article discussion

I am new to posting on any forum so forgive my lack of knowledge in doing this:j
I too ordered and paid cash for a fitted bedroom just 3 weeks before admin. I am doing this in a last ditch attempt to keep up wiv any info on reclaiming my cash. I have had no replies, delivery, apology and been told -tough no refund for you, as others have. has anyone paying cash had any joy?

I also live on my own, had to move to ground floor flat due to my disability and health problems, my family clubbled together £600. cash to buy me wardrobes etc ready for my major surgery when I will be spending a long time recovering and immobile in my bedroom.
They took my cash and I can get nothing or seemingly do nothing. Like other customers I feel like I have been robbed and feel even worse that my familly gave me money to help and I have nothing still. I cannot afford to buy again. I know £600.00 does not seem a lot to compared to some but it is £600.I will never have spare and I still have no bedroom furniture. This has to be wrong! I feel bad for all of you who have had your money stolen!:mad:

Many will have seen this ad in local press or on the web - MFI IN ADMINISTRATION 1000 + of ex MFI kitchens to clear, full kitchens with appliances only £795 complete. Telephone 01535 279030

I phoned and spoke to someone who said the company 'the kitchen company' were in Keighley West Yorkshire. Looking at some of the earlier posts I'm worried it's a scam or at least a dodgy company.

Anyone know anything about it?

What has happen to the VAT that we have paid on these items, surely we can have that back, as we have not received any goods..

Unlikely - HMRC make sure they got their whack from the administrators before any other creditors are considered and that would include any VAT charged by the company before it went into administration.

Then surely the Vat Offices owe us the money, I cant see how we are liable for paying MFI bad debt, when we have received no goods, Companies are paid back the Vat on bad Debts

HMRC are ALWAYS at the head of the creditors queue with respect to a company in adminstration. Suggest you take it up with them and see what they say.

Hi All

Just seen today that the MFI brand name has been bought for £250k by the Walker Group whose other brands include Victoria Plumb - great more crumbly old trailers dumped in fields at the side of motorways advertising over priced rubbish!

Hi All,

I've just seen that the MFI Brand is going to be relaunched by The Walker Group. I now wish to make a claim under the 'old' MFI product guarantee, as I had a bathroom fitted with a 4 year 'guarantee' in November 2006.

Can anyone help with any 'phone numbers/ email addresses about who I can contact?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
