we too paid almost £2000 6 days before they announced they had gone bust , they took our cash knowing that we would get sweet F A , That surely is theft , and for that £2000 we ended up with just a nice picture of what we should have had , and nothing else to show ,
No doubt mcr will be making a packet out of us all and leaving us with nowt0 -
Anybody heard of the new Tesco's kitchens??? If you have then take a look at who the fitting service is outsourced to, then check out the directors and who they were once affiliated to0

Hi,
I to have been ripped off by MFI but have just heard some interesting information. Apparently a company called Galiform that trade as Howdens Joinery owned MFI and sold the company off for £1 to get rod of it. However a friend of mine had shares in MFI that Galiform are honouring. Also they apparently honoured some of the rent that MFI owed. I am by no means an expert in this sort of thing but surely if they are honouring shares they should be honouring the debt aswell? Anybody got any more info about this?0 -

Howdens sold the mfi arm back in 2006. When mfi went into administration Howdens were still registered tenents of some of the buildings (part of the agreement of the mfi sale from howdens) so were legally bound to pay the landlords of those buildings. They are in no way responsible for money owed to consumers.
I really do feel sorry for those of you who lost money when mfi went into administration - I worked for them and was assured by the overseers (as you were too) that all orders would be honoured as they had the stock to cover it. Those of us who questioned it were threatened with dismissal (no redundancy if it went under).
What I do question however is that the bosses quoted nationally(news and press) that mfi would be able to guarantee current and future orders - this was obviously not the case so surely there is a claim of fraud. I wonder if anyone has followed up on this?0 -
We too were ripped off by MFI, we had a kitchen with granite worktops on order and gave them a £1200 deposit (paid by cheque unfortunately!). Filled in the claim form and have heard nothing since. It seems so long ago now.0

Hi being new to this site we too have had our fingers burnt when we laid out £5.200 on the 17th November a week before the administrators were called in.we have tried alsorts of avenues but unfortunately the english law is not on the side of us unsecured creditors. We have read most postings its interewsting to note names such as galliform and howdens keep cropping up. I met whit and ex manageress of one of the mfi branches who seemed to know what was going on with the administration and was told that her understanding was that howdens had paid 2 million into the administrators to help pay creditors, if its true its not suprising nothing is mentioned in there last statement. After taking legal advise we cannot even hold the mfi directors for any breach of contract, One only hopes that these people have a very short life span and dont live to enjoy a happy retirement, I think its fitting to say even the administrators must now be feeling a guilty consiuos coming on. cheers for now.0

Hi again I had hoped someone would reply to my message last week, I hope we are not going to sit back and watch MCR enjoy themselves spending our money. Has anybody else been seeking legal advise and had better luck than me. hope to read something soon. cheers Dennis.0

Some news in the Money section of the Mail paper I picked up during my travels yesterday - indicated those who paid by cash / cheque can pretty much regard it as lost sadly...Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0

Hello, I don't know if you are still looking for minori walnut wardrobe but I bought one before MFI went bust and then my house purchase fell through! I've now moved somewhere else but don't need the wardrobe any more because I have built-in ones at the new place. So if you're still interested in buying an unused brand new minori walnut double wardrobe with drawer underneath, let me know!0
