read the latest mfi update..they are talking months..
  • Like everyone else on this forum I am a victim of MFI! As it looks like there is no way that order will be fulfilled now can anyone advise me how I may be able to get the 3 missing items that will complete my York Bedroom furniture.

    They are...
    NCBYK31 - Double 2+3 Drawer Chest Pack 1
    NCBYK52 - Combi Robe Pack 2 Shelves/Top (x2)

Without these I have 2 wardbrobes and a chest of drawers I can't build which makes the rest of the furniture (that I have to pay for ) redundant as I bought a full matching set.

    So frustrating!

Has anyone heard how the stock MFI hold will be sold off - maybe there is a chance of picking up the mising items somehow?

  • I am one of the unfortunate customers of mfi. I paid GBP 13,000 by cheque for 2 bathrooms (1 new, 1 upgrade), supply & installation.

What do I have now? Two half completed bathrooms, no shower, no proper bathroom, no proper commode, a room full of flatpacks, many many wrong items.

What does mfi or their administrator MCR say ? I am an unsecured creditor and my settlement can take several months...this trickles through MCR website. I have already sent the Debt Proof Claim form.

What can I do? Zealch...nothing. Just look at incomplete bathrooms everyday, let my family suffer in cold weather.

Does any one have any advice or way forward for me?

    Hi All,

I am one of those unfortunate who have paid by cheque. The recent update on the website is not very encouraging.

Could someone please share with me a telephone number for administators? (not the MFI helpline)? I know they will not tell me much, but still want to hear from them what is going on with my refund!

    Thanks a lot

Number for MCR is 020 7487 7240. Good luck, I really hope you get your money back.

Hi, for anyone out there who paid with a Capital One credit card, I've just had a full refund onto my account, phew! Good luck to everyone who's been put in this awful situation and I really hope you all get your money back.

Shame on the press / TV who have done nothing to highlight the huge problems facing MFI customers. All they've done is report about Woolworths, which was obviously sad, but all their customers have lost is a place to buy their pick n mix from!

Just had response back via my solicitor re MFI. (Instructed them as MCR would tell us nothing direct)

Been told that those that paid my cheque/cash/non visa debit cards will not receive a full refund, but only a distribution of funds equally spead amongst all those un-secured creditors, which could take up to 12 months to finalise as unsecured creditors are in the thousands. 15,000 people paid by cheque or cash or un-secured cards, plus all the others, for example suppliers.

Whether you paid £200 for sink or £20,000 for a kitchen you will all get the same amount, probably 10 pence in the pound, if your lucky.

Very sad news for us all. We have lost 12,000 (paid by cheque), and will probably get back pennies back.

I find it disgusting that they can just take our money and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

The fact that they kept saying there was enough money to give us all a full refund, was totally un-true it was just to keep us all quiet.

does anybody have any contacts with the watchdog programme..that money held by the merchant provider is customers money..
  • I was also unfortunate enough to purchase a kitchen thru MFI, delivery was due on 25th November, the day they called in the administrators.
We had taken out finance with Blackhorse, buy now pay August '09 2 years interest free credit, after having 3 conversations with Blackhorse and been told that the order had been cancelled I have today received a letter from them stating that 'Now you have received your MFI order we have released the funds from your MFI loan, payments will commence in August!!!!!
Obviously fuming I have phones Blackhorse who say that MFI have informed them that they have delivered it and I need to fill in a claim form with them for them to then persue with MFI, arghhh!!!
I then phoned MFI who confirmed that the order was never delivered but its not a simple case, as you would think/hope, of MFI phoning Blackhorse or faxing a confirmation that the order wasn't despatched, oh no I have to wait to be contacted by the department at MFI that is dealing with Blackhorse finance, how long will this take? Told it could be months!!! In the meantime I am left with this on my credit rating, still awaiting for a refund for deposit paid via debit card.
Is anyone else in a similar situation or can anyone help at all how I can speed this whole thing u??
