Now to look for a new kitchen... again. Mind you once bitten, twice... i'll be making sure that I can take it away with me.

On that basis, I would probably give them a call and "chivvy" them along a bit!!!
I am not sure if this will make you feel any better but I haven't heard anything from Tesco yet either regarding our MFI claim! I was informed that it will take at least six weeks. :rolleyes:0 -
I sent a letter as suggested by this website to Bank of Scotland trying to claim back £938 I spent by Visa Debit card. Can anyone recommend a second letter to proceed with should the bank not reply?
Has anyone had any luck with Bank of Scotland and debit cards?0 -
Hi all
Just looking for a bit of help from peeps in the same boat..
My folks ordered a kitchen from MFI at the end of October for a total of £6618, £2000 deposit paid on Marks & Spencer &More card, balance on a Nationwide Visa Debit.
Nothing was delivered and following the advice placed on the MFI website by the administrators my dad sent a letter to M&S under s75 claiming back the full amount.
M&S have said they are very busy with claims from MFI customers and have agreed in principal to refund the £2000 but no word on the balance (paid for by Nationwide Visa Debit card) as yet.
Should he pursue a claim on the chargeback scheme with Nationwide for the balance of £4618? I'm mindful that you only have 120 days to claim, and with M&S not committing themselves either way I don't want to risk them being out of pocket.
Any advice greatly received
BTW, I can heartily recommend Howdens if you're still looking for a kitchen, I wish they'd gone there in the first place!0 -
Just to add - I had £500 back from Skycard (Mastercard, Credit) last week and the £3500 (Mastercard, Credit) due back from Halifax on the 22nd.
EDIT: Very impressed by the way SKYCARD have dealt with my refund, Halifax told me they have a 6 week backlog.0 -

Don't know what to do with the kitchen i bought from MFI after they went into administration the first time round.
I purchased an ex-display kitchen after much thought and question asking with the staff at the Blackburn store, which closed when in admin first time round, and bought the kitchen after seeking their advice.
Well as it happens, i needed to make the kitchen display fit my kitchen and was told i could get parts from the stores which were still open at the time and now with MFI going back into admin i now cannot get these parts, so in a way i'm stuck with a kitchen which i cannot make fit.
Any ideas??? Tried looking for the company who make that style of kitchen but no luck.
Anything i can do because it was paid for on a credit card?
Yours hoping
Craig
The kitchen in question is the sienna range and i have tried howdens who once made that range but don't any longer. Before MFI had gone into admin again, i rang the bolton store and explained how i got my kitchen and told me that the sienna range was made by someone else so the colour may not be a perfect match. If anyone knows who makes the sienna kitchen then please get in touch because the so called MFI helpline is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. I rung them to explain my situation and was told they would be receiving a list of manufacturers of bebrooms, kitchens and bathroom and to ring them at a later date, which is what i did, only to be told that they won't be giving out any names of the manufacturers as they won't deal with the public.
Please please please, any help in this would be great.
Thanks

I'm quite sure that B&Q now do a very similar modular range of internal units for bedroom furniture....looks very similar, and damn well a lot cheaper, eg, double length internal rail at MFI was £10, but only £4 at B&Q - same item at a glance.
Go check it out...Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0
