I wrote to Black Horse finance almost three weeks ago regarding my section 75 claim. Has anyone else written and heard back sooner? Or should i be getting in touch with them again? I do get impatient!!
Thanks
I submitted claim to Tesco Credit Card a month ago, and they said today that they haven't even reviewed it as the dept. is swamped with so many people submitting claims from company's going bust. On that basis, I would probably give them a call and "chivvy" them along a bit!!!0 -
Thought that might be the case but it was worth asking - guess the great 'Mfi Tamarind' scavinging hunt starts here !
B&Q stock a range called "Chocolate Oak Veneer Shaker" that is almost identical to the Tamarind range - although they now only stock (through cooke and Lewis) a limited range. We have managed to complete our kitchen using these units.0 -

Can things get any worse????
My 2 month old Diplomat Fridge Freezer has developed a fault where as the fridge is reading "H" and is getting warm, then makes a very loud bang and works, then goes warm again!!!
It says on the MFI website that I have to WRITE to the administarators to make a claim, that is really helpful while all my food goes off.
What should I do?? Call an engineer (if its repairable) and try and claim the money back with the rest of my incomplete kitchen or buy a new one and claim??
Lucky I am bald otherwise I would be pulling my hair out by now0 -

My Diplomat fridge/freezer packed up 10 days after it was installed in August.
MFI Aftercare eventually came and declared it irreparable and a new one was ordered. I lost all the food. New one was due 12th December (4 months later) but, of course, failed to arrive. After 4 months without a freezer I went out and bought one from local store - installed 2 days later. Have been trying to get a refund from Administrators for cost of freezer and loss of food but no response. My own insurance has £100 excess for loss of food so it wasn't worth claiming that way. The new freezer cost more. I also had to pay to have it installed as it was integrated. My advice would be to cut your losses and buy another one before all your food is lost.0 -
Argh!
Paid the balance for a new kitchen from MFI over the phone. Despite several requests for them to send me out copies of the invoices and receipts they didn't. Store is now shut and the nice lady at MFI Customer Queries has told me that the Administrators won't issue written confirmation of any orders as it should have been the store.
I raised a dispute with my CC issuer (Bank of Scotland) who originally told me that the merchants acquiring bank would issue refund sby the beginning of the year this has not been forthcoming and they now tell me that I need to supply invoices & receipts for the goods and confirmation that the goods will not be delivered, none of which I can get! The only thing I could get was an email from MFI Customer Queries with my order numbers and stating that the company was now in Administration and the goods would not be delivered.
I've forwarded this to my CC issuer and hoping that this will be enough.0 -
I need to buy a Thurlestone 888 desk to complete my order, as MFI went bust before they could do so.
I would be interested if anyone is looking to sell one?

I have had a request from a contact for an Aurora End Panel or Base End Panel. If anyone has either/both of these surplus, can you please contact me.
I can still supply most handles to complete your kitchens, only short Chunky handles and 1 x1114mm in the Space range.

Are there any other sites out there supplying MFI related items other than E.Bay of course.

Hi
Had same problem, majority of balance paid over phone and no invoice/receipt sent even though asked for one. Good news is A & L have paid up and Barclays, Cap One phoned to ask for copies of receipts etc, explained situ and told them that they were the only proof i have that i paid them, seeing as it was them who paid them!!!! Is it me or is the world mad? Also, me and m8's discussing this at work and Zavvi, she had voucher that she cannot use and surelyit boils down to theft
