Woggle, did you contact Nationwide Credit Card and if so what did they say. I sent the forms back nearly three weeks ago and have heard nothing back.

    You have PM.

right lucky me for i got refunded 2 days before it all went belly up as they could not deliver the whole kitchen so have full refund instead went bought a new kitchen from ikea instead far far better quality and 25yr guarntee, they also do bedrooms as well for those that i have seen looking but bear in mind im on about stuff from ikea not that it will match with mfi stuff.

right now here is some info i had a letter today contacting from a company called cranliegh freight services asking me if i wanted to buy my old kitchen at a greatly reduced price as they where orginally contracted to deliver my kitchen and have now been authorised by admins to sell it to me lol not on your nelly me thinks but there could be a host of you out there caught in limbo land you MAY get contacted by similar contract companies, in the letter it says mfi owes them money and they need to recoup it as well. So i hope that some of you could find yourself with a kitchen still yet maybe on the cheap as well but me personally done with it all now

hope this info helps some of you and have a better 2009 happy new year i'm off for a beer now l8trs

    basil :money:
  • So how does this sound? Bought my kitchen on buy now, pay later with MFI backed in with Black Horse Finance. I have received all my kitchen, but am missing 3 x appliances - fat chance of ever seeing those now. I have written to Black Horse twice, and also phoned them to find out where I stand re a refund on the missing items.

When I spoke to them, they couldn't find my agreement, or me on the computer - Urgh - what do I do now - let sleeping dogs lie or stir it all up with then and insist they find me so they can take money from me ???

My mother has a similar situation.
Paid cash for fitting, but has incomplete kitchen which was never signed off. MFI have no record of her, apart from a "welcome" letter from Blackhorse theres been nothing, no bill, no invoice, nothing... We're playing the waiting game. Surely if they're owed money, they'll come knocking soon?
My mother is in her late 70's... cant be doing with the hassle, but somehow I am glad she didnt pay cash.

What was the proceedure for everyone else re MFI/Blackhorse?

Hi, we are in exactly the same situation - it is a nightmare waiting. I recommend that you contact Blackhorse directly. We were told that the loan had been cancelled so we are still playing a waiting game as we do not want to take out another loan for our outstanding kitchen tops and then find we have to pay MFI too.

Hi, guys just to let everybody know, i've been into my local homebase, in sutton coldfield, and the staff there have been great. They beat the MFI order we had and still gave a discount. Wish i had gone there from the start. And there units have a 10 year guarentee!! They even gave sorted out finance so i wouldn't have to come in again.
And rangemasters are a bargain at the moment.

Hope this helps somebody who is stuck for a kitchen

    Hi All

For all those who took out an agreement with Black Horse you can claim under section 75. I got about 95% of my kitchen but am claiming anyway. I sent off a letter to Black Horse basically saying MFI breeched the contract as they did not fulfil my order and that they (Black Horse) were jointly and severally liable therefore I want a refund of what I have already paid and the rest wiped. I got a letter back within a few days saying we are sorry you are not happy with your purchase please complete a claim form. Will let you all know the outcome.

Sorry I can't help with the buy now pay later option....sounds strange!!

Happy New Year to you all!!

I would contact Black Horse as you get more answers from them. I cannot believe that the Administrators have not even sent out a letter.

    Hello

I've seen this asked two times but can't see an answer from anyone, so just trying again ........

I bought a display kitchen from Mfi in the first wave of closures - it wasn't large enough, but I knew I could purchase the additional units/parts from the Exeter store which was staying open. In fact the Taunton branch where I bought had huge displays giving the Exeter address/info and also they gave all buyers a leaflet entitling them to a 10% discount off Mfi purchases at other stores, knowing people needed bits & pieces to make the kitchens 'fit'.

Obviously the staff didn't know. I'm not in your position where I paid for stuff I didn't get. I got the kitchen I paid for - but I only bought on the basis it could be added to. I'm not sure where this leaves me. I have an incomplete kitchen - I've looked on ebay/googled but can't find the extra's I need.

If I can't get the extra's/units - I can't get the kitchen fitted because it won't 'fit', so I'll have wasted the money & have an unwanted kitchen sitting in the garage. Have I any come-back on the administrators/credit card or is it just tough luck ?

I'm sorry to say the kitcken you bought is like buying a second hand car and would say sold as seen and prob with out warranty as is ex display and sold at a reduced price far as it goes, in relation to cant get this cant get that mfi is gone and will be forever gone. It looks like your stuck with what you have got if I where you start looking around at other suppliers to see if you can get same stuff from them I have heard howdens and manget mentioned a few times around saying they cover a large percentage of ranges but not them all.

    happy hunting

If you really can't use the kitchen could try posting on ebay with a reserve. May be people out there who need what you have got and you could recoup some if not all your money?
