MFI Administration article discussion

Glowboy is right about Howdens - they often sell identical kitchen units to MFI so worth a try if you need to complete a kitchen, though I believe they only deal with "trade" customers, which is about as unhelpful as it is possible to be.
If anyone in North Kent needs bits from Howdens but doesn't want the hassle of opening an account (and being bombarded with offers through the post), PM me and I'll see if I can help.0 -

I have received all my kitchen, but am missing 3 x appliances - fat chance of ever seeing those now. I have written to Black Horse twice, and also phoned them to find out where I stand re a refund on the missing items.
When I spoke to them, they couldn't find my agreement, or me on the computer - Urgh - what do I do now - let sleeping dogs lie or stir it all up with then and insist they find me so they can take money from me ???
you keep on fighting , were all in this togeather .0 -

Click here and then choose the MFI option.
Can someone explain what these two questions mean?:
7. Particulars of any security held, the value of the security, and the date it was given
8. Particulars of any reservation of title claimed in respect of goods supplied to which the claim relates.0 -

Hi this is the email address if anyone needs to sort their contract re the blackhorse.0 -
Hey exquisite. Im guessing the first might mean like a date they gave for when items would be delivered perhaps?
At top do we as customer only fill out out our ref and also the creditor address, our own address?0 -
I did not get my kitchen delivery and I am in the process of making a claim as I paid debit card. They owe me my deposit back which I had to pay for delivery of goods, ofcourse which I did not recieve.
I am hoping it is not going to be too difficult getting the contract sorted with the blackhorse as I have contacted them 3 times prior to today, and they said that the administrators had to cancel contracts with the black horse. I am now seeing a email address that states we have to contact them. This is confusing info as I now feel that black horse is just as bad. Anyway I shall try this as I cannot wait to break myself away from this awful mess. I am however happy to say that I went to a local kichen company and I am getting my kitchen on christmas Eve and its worked out chepaer than MFI. All I can say to anyone get a price from your local companies rather than the stores like ggrrr MFI. Hope you all have some luck and I hope everything works out for us all, lets keep our fingers crossed.0 -
I was assuming question 7 was referring to any deposit paid but no idea about q.8!!!0

7 and 8 are not related to customers but are for suppliers/other creditors:
7) would relate to any type of security that MFI had given (share, debenture, deposit) to a trade supplier/bank etc
8) A reservation of title is something that many suppliers put in the terms of their invoices. e.g. a furniture manufacturer who supplies MFI with their kitchens will state that the goods that they supply to MFI will remain their property until MFI have paid them for it.0 -
Well that's it then. MFI is officially finished! But what I don't understand is where is all the furniture that was supposedly in warehouses gone???? Where is my bedroon furniture? It must have been in a warehouse or something when I ordered it surely? So what happened to it and where is it now?
I printed off the statement on the website along with my sales invoice and faxed it off to my credit card company this afternoon. At least they can't stall on the "we hope to fulfil orders" rubbish anymore. I'll let you know how I get on.
However, my bedroom is still like a building site and will probably be like it for sometime as I can't find anything as reasonably priced or as well fitting as what I was getting from MFI.
Hope others are having more luck.0 -
Im missing 2 unit doors, a fasica door, a base unit and a sink. MFI gave me 2 delivery dates ( before they publicly went into administration ) for delivery and of course nothing arrived.
I have contacted them on serveral occasions through the advised website and have heard nothing.
I ordered a sink from another company so I could get my kitchen operational but now I dont know whether to wait and see if they will give me my outstanding order or try to claim my money back from my credit card company.
Are there any suppliers to MFI willing to help customers left with unfinished kitchens??0
