Reading this thread, I'm relieved my kitchen was finally delivered a couple of months ago. I took a calculated gamble ordering from MFI at a time when they were rumoured to be in trouble and it could easily have been me pursuing Black Horse under Section 75.

I can thoroughly recommend Howdens (as a satisfied customer only). I'm not sure they sell separate doors etc though. And if you're trying to finish an MFI kitchen, make sure you take a piece of it with you and compare it to the Howdens display. We changed our design at the last minute and bought three extra units from Howdens. The catalogue picture was almost identical to MFI's and the display units looked the right colour but when we got the doors they were a subtly different shade. We had to put the carcasses in anyway and they couldn't refund just the doors so we had to buy some from MFI.

If anyone is in North Kent and needs three 400mm Wycombe doors, PM me!

P.S. Benchmarx (owned by Jewson) may also be worth a try for those who can't find a match in Howdens.

mcr have now moved the date to the 19th dec more stalling tactics, why cant they just do the decent thing and either give us our kitchens/bedrooms or a refund installing or might be`s and may be`s

woolworths administrators have sorted every thing out told the truth and admited that they are going to close why cant mcr as i am sick of waiting credit card companies have been great egg and lloyds but still not got money back

This is getting more ridiculous by the day.
How can they say that they have updated the information. All they've done is put on the exact same details but changed the dates. Stalling is the right word for this.

We are all left hanging on - yet again.
I was hoping that at least we'd have some answers today. I'm in the fortunate position of having a bit of spare cash, so I could go out and order another kitchen now. I'll get my money back from the CC company in due time. Ikea have one I like (very similar to the MFI one). Their sale starts soon so I was hoping to be able to go and order it this weekend.

If they do sell the order book I don't know that I'll be any better off. Howdens don't have a kitchen like mine and although B&Q did have a similar style, they no longer make it. Unless there is stock of Schreiber kitchens sitting around somewhere I don't see how I'll ever get the kitchen I want from a buyer.

Oh, well, we now all sit around waiting for close of business on the 19th - so they can say January!!!!

hey guys i ordered a space cream kitchen back in july, del date 8 jan, i had it on black horse buy now pay in a year scheme, what are the chances of getting this kitchen, as surely anyone who has payed up front will be at the head of the queue, and il be last.

Don`t forget Howdens is Trade only!!?? You should end up paying top rrp.

mcr are just bunch of theives, same statement and only thing changed is the date. B**tards.

Whats the betting that on Friday(my due delivery day btw) mcr will say there will be an announcement on the 22nd, and then after Christmas, and then after New Year, and so the whole sorry story goes on and on and on.
As others have said, it's about time this was sorted once and for all. I'm astounded that there might be a buyer out there,given the present economic situation, add that to the recent history of mfi.....I just can't see it, and tbh I don't want to be dealing with a company who have been given the go ahead by mcr. I really have no confidence left in this whole thing now and just hope mcr finally draw a line under it on Friday so we can all start sorting out our kitchens bedrooms etc etc.
Wish I'd never thought about a new kitchen in the first place now.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all, lets hope it turns out to be a happier New Year.:beer:

You may all be aware that Mark Two is the distribution company for most of the companies mentioned ( MFI, WIckes, Howdens etc) and hold all the stock at various locations. Try their website.. I'm sure they do direct sales
