I collected my Kutchen Lab kitchen yesterday from MFI Bedford that was supposed to be delivered on the 1st December - thank god as i thought i would lose out on the lot as i had paid via cheque!
All the appliances are missing but at least i have the kitchen so thats a start!
Bedford MFI stores all Kutchen Lab kitchens once delivered from Germany, if anyone wants contact details let me know as they had 70 odd Kutchen kitchen that have been delivered over the last few weeks just sat around waiting to be collected!
Blowdog, can you get in touch or post the details here please? Im really pleased you managed to collect your kitchen, and also interested, that they released it?
If that's the case are we legally entitled to our kitchens? Why didn't they just turn you away and say it's no longer yours as we still have it on our premises and are using it to pay off outstanding debts?! It doesn't make sense. It's my kitchen, ive paid for it, and it's in this Bedford warehouse apparently, waiting to be delivered to me.
Can anyone else answer the above or let me know where this Bedford warehouse is, by PM or let everyone else know here on this thread thanks.0 -
.............. Is this the last we will see of MFI, Hygena, Schreiber, etc.
I am one of the many MFI customers still waiting for delivery of part of my kitchen:
I hope it comes! (doubt it)
I hope the administrators can update their website more often! (doubt it)
I hope that part completed customers get first refusal of the warehouse stock before the "Ebay Gannets"! (doubt it)
Despite this, I have some questions:
1. How can a management buy out last less than 2 months? Surely those managers were of sufficient intellegence to have had a strategy.
2. Does the original MFI owner (of 2 months ago) now have no debts or liabilities?
3. Could the original MFI owner (of 2 months ago) now acquire/ approach Hygena, Schreiber, etc. and form a new association?
4. Will we see another furniture chain spring up in the UK (MFI Direct.com, for example) under the original management with no debts and no liabilities to its previous customers?
5. How well provided for were the interim buyout management team, having bought out MFI and failed to do anything with it, are they as skint as us?
Anyone know the answers?0 -

We purchased a new kitchen together with all the relavant appliances from MFI in June of this year. We now have a problem with the washing machine, which is still under manufacturers warranty. The appliance is a Diplomat, I cannot get through on the helpline numbers whcih are constantly engaged. We need to know how we get this appliance repaired.0

Any advice offered for the following would be greatly appreciated.
We went into MFI yesterday (Sunday) and looked at the display kitchens for sale. We agreed to reserve one of the kitchens with some appliances included for collection on Wednesday. They took my card to make the reservation but we were under the impression they would not take payment until we collected on Wednesday. We were not told that a payment had been taken and were hence not told that it would be non-refundable. We didn't sign anything and were given a 'temporary sales invoice' (as printed on the back) which detailed the deal we'd been offered. I wasn't going to be there on collection day so hence why they took my card details before. After sleeping on it we were worried that we shouldn't go ahead due to uncertainty with jobs etc. I went in today first thing (was there before they opened) to tell them that we wouldn't be going ahead. But not only had they taken full payment, but they told us it was non-refundable. So tough. We hadn't been aware that payment would have been taken, and we certainly never signed anything or gave them a pin. I've spoken to the manager who claims he can't refund it now it's gone through, despite not being able to produce the agreement we'd supposedly signed (which we didn't). He was willing to refund a discount but apparently couldn't refund the whole thing. The credit card company have said we're covered but we can't raise a dispute until it hits our account, our MFI branch is closing doors on Wednesday, and it won't hit our account until then. I'm terrified that we won't get a refund and won't get the kitchen if the refund is refused. I'm panicking as it's £5250 and we can't afford it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Get the feeling those with part deliveries made are unlikely to get the remainder. So then we go into the drawn out process of trying to get some money back, but also trying to find sources for bits elsewhere. Anyone with "Hambledon" 1285mm Robe Doors x2 and Rectory Tall Clad on end panels x2 or know where we might source Schreiber units?
I am preparing my case notes for Visa - it stretches over four different delivery dates from 14Nov (part delivered) to 28Nov, 2Dec and 5Dec, (all not made) and ends with a part completed bedroom. Its worth registering with them now.0 -
I arranged collecting my Kutchen Lab kitchen through a guy called Tick on 07946 159 425 - he was/is in charge of all MFI kutchen lab kitchens.
The other contact i have is Mark Lewis - Warehouse Manager at MFI Bedford - 07976 598 390.
Good luck!0 -
Today's announcement doesn't bode well as the sales staff said they won't get paid their commissions this month only the basic0
