Service brilliant - took them our original quote with all pieces on, and it was delivered promptly this morning.
Howdens seems to be wanting to help people - so well worth a try
Im delighted!
THe other point to note is that the difference between low-mid-high price ranges in MFI, is substantially greater than Howdens. For a small price increase, the fronts of the units are of a higher quality and a lower cost difference in Howdens than MFI were.0 -
That is very true. The whole kitchen is costing us around £150 more but the units are already built and the carcasses are of a much stronger quality so all in all looks a good thing to be doing?
Definately try contacting them as Im sure they are aware that so many people have been let down by MFI - and Im sure they will want the business too!0 -
My boyfriend works for one of the companies that deliver for MFI - the company hasn't been paid and so all the drivers have been made redundant. I believe it is the same for other transport companies. It's difficult to see how anyone will now get a delivery...."I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Barclays said that as soon as I had poisitive evidence that my kitchen won't be delivered that I was to contact them and they would refund what I spent on the Debit card.
I'm hoping that Tesco are wrong about how much they are liable for as it will save the hassle of dealing with two companies.
Eliseydoesit - Tesco tried this tack with a colleague of mine following the XL collapse. Eventually they will relent as they are liable for the full amount and they know they are - keep on at them, quoting the consumer credit act and always ask to be put through to the 'exceptions' department.0 -

yep ours is due on 12th and not a clue if our kutchen kitchen its going to be delivered or not, and we cant go elsewhere until they tell us about orders after the 8th. Also since we have already ripped out the sink and cooker we are surviving on a kettle and microwave, and sink in upstairs bathroom
not impressed, no one is telling us anything.0
