Hi - I've just contacted the warehouse in Bedford and been told that NO DELIVERIES ARE BEING SENT OUT FROM THERE. We have a Kuchenlab kitchen there but it's only available if we collect it and even then we can't guarantee that our appliances will be there.. We'll be going to Howden's instead now and getting our credit card refunded. Collection was not part of the original contract!0

Obviously, many of us are in a bit of a pickle right now. Obviously, getting the goods from a reputable retailer isn't enough right now, so it is nice to rely on the extra back-up given by a credit card and s75. Does anybody know whether Howdens as a trade supplier, will accept payment of this sort, by credit card? Obviously, it needs to be bought on a trade account, but I wonder whether such accounts can be settled by credit card?
Any ideas from the mass populous?0 -

I have a couple of extra doors and a drawer or two in this range. I am short a 500 full height door and a 600 extractor cover. If anyone is reading this and could swap please get in touch. If you google the Hygena Hampstead you will see an ebay listing for a door I have entered, you can use that to get in touch.
Lexxx,
Many thanks for your response, I think my entire family has looked at your postings on ebay for those doors, unfortunately we're missing some 500 doors and drawers as well.
Hope you are well

Folks, hoping someone can help me. I paid out £1300 to MFI for bedroom furniture, which was due to be delivered this Saturday - the order has been cancelled. I paid by Visa Direct Debit - am I covered under the Chargeback scheme? Do i have any rights to a refund? Any advice or help would be very useful!
Thanks
Jo0 -
I think the chargeback option is very badly understood by call center staff as they seem to get no training whatsoever. It also depends on your bank Barclays informed me that they run a similar system thats not connected to Visa even though their debit cards are Visa, I paid £2250 on my cc for my kitchen and the deposit of £750 on my debit card. Tesco(cc company) say they will only compensate what I spent on the card( although I'm told they are responsible for the full amount). Barclays said that as soon as I had poisitive evidence that my kitchen won't be delivered that I was to contact them and they would refund what I spent on the Debit card.
I'm hoping that Tesco are wrong about how much they are liable for as it will save the hassle of dealing with two companies.
I got put through to the "debit card services department" at Barclays if that of any help.
I just wish the administrators would get things moving so we can all move on:T
Originally Call center staff at Barclays said I would have to "wait in line" for my money from the administrators.0 -
Hi
I know its a long shot but does anyone know the dlivery depot that would beliver the bedroom furniture to Aberdeen area.
I was meant to recieve bedroom furniture on the 29th so we are assuming it must be somewhere.

HI,
I'm a fitter awaiting thousand of pounds for numerous kitchens fitted for MFI. This is my income, job, means of paying my mortgage etc....I have been put on the long list of suppliers to await payment/or not.
Please could someone explain how MFI have been allowed to take money which would be due to the likes of myself and beg us fitters to continue to fit, promising payment ASAP in writing. Where has our money gone. While we sympathise with people who have ordered and paid out for kitchens, we are in positions such as maybe losing our houses as we haven't been paid for so long.
Can someone give some advise as the automated emails sontinually provided from the Administrators are useless.
Hi there, i to am a fitter for mfi, or should i say ex fitter, i am based in the south Wales area.
They owe me thousands too, i have done many fits the last few months, even before the Administrators came in, and was constantly on the phone to the hub, and thats all they kept saying was you will get paid in 14 working days, then another 14 days after till eventually now, still no money......
I to am in a position where i really dont know what to do next, i have been to Citizens Advice, they have basically told me that we aint got a hope in hell of getting any of the money that they owe us, as they have none, and owe out millions... i have sent them recorded delivery letters and thats all i get back to is standard letters.
If you have any joy or have any fresh advice then can you let me know to, and if i get any joy will gladly share it with other fitters, cos we are all in the same boat0 -
Hi,
I wonder if anyone has any idea where we stand with our refund please?
We bought an ex-display kitchen on our credit card. Obviously we have recieved all of this. We then ordered units that we needed in addition to the display ones from another MFI store which was still open. Foolishly paid £800ish on a debit card for these. These additional units are supposed to be delivered on 10th Dec. Sees unlikely that they will be though
As I paid for the original part of the order on a credit card, would this cover the outstanding part which was paid by debit card? I have heard Martin say that even if you pay £1 deposit on a card it covers the whole purchase. Would mine count though- as the secind lot of units were bought on another date from another store? Obviously though anyone can see they are for the same kitchen (same name ifswim!). quote]
Hi,
just re: the above. Can anyone suggest the right course of action re section 75? The debit card we used for the remaining units was a visa debit. Maybe this will be the answer??
I managed to get through on the MFI helpline yesterday. No help though!! Advised to wait until Monday and then check the website for an update:rotfl:0 -
After realising that our kitchen order would be cancelled - thankfully we paid by mastercard and the card provider are currently in the process of claiming it back - we ordered the exact same kitchen that we did from MFI from Howdens on Tuesday.
Service brilliant - took them our original quote with all pieces on, and it was delivered promptly this morning.
Howdens seems to be wanting to help people - so well worth a try
Im delighted!0
