  • Hello & Sorry to all of you who are having problems with MFI.

I work for a Builder Merchant called Buildbase who are able to offer kitchens from Symphony, Omega & Crown. We can also offer bedroom furniture by Symphony & Crown. We also supply bathroom goods.

Your local branch may also be able to help with fitting.

they had to call the police into mfi in inverness as was a big riot of people wanting refunds and trheatening staff, one guy started removing fixtures from the showroom and leaving with them,
Live in my shoes for a week, then tell me your lifes hard!
  • Anyone having problems getting their kitchen from MFI and needing a kitchen fast and/or before Xmas should go asap to their local Howdens Joinery Branch.

They have approx 50 ranges, worktop, sinks, appliances and accessories available from stock for immediate delivery.
Their units are 18mm pre assembled rigid Schrieber carcases easy to fit. They deliver from the branch, and can plan/design your kitchen for you too.

Queries/exchanges etc. are usually dealt with promptly.

You will need either a joiner/kitchen fitter with a Howdens account or you can open one in your own name.

I bought my top quality kitchen from Howdens after finding out the almost identical products to the ones in my nearest MFI showroom were available locally from Howdens. I was very satisfied with their service and products. The price was very similar too.

I had problems with MFI in the past, such as the usual missing bits, long delivery lead times. I would never use them again after the last saga.

MFI have been sinking for a long time now.

I really hope those with outstanding goods either get refunds or supplied.

We took a massive step in buying this kitchen and wont be able to afford to pay another £4000! Due for delivery on the 16th however was warned that MFI are not even paying their fitters!

:( - I hope I can get a refund or claim under section 75, maybe we could all make a joint bid, sharing the legal costs - trying to claim under section 75?
  • Hi,

MFI have now informed me that my order of a 'Melbury 2 corner desk and 4 drawer pedestal' will not be honoured. I am confident of getting a refund from my credit card supplier but have built my home office around this furniture and ideally would like to obtain these items from an alternative source.

Does anyone know of any alternative stockists of MFI's home office furniture or who actually supplies MFI and can I go direct to them ?

Any advice would be greatfully received

    Thanks

    Hey,

would anyone know where I can obtain spare doors/drawers for the Hygena Hampstead range? I've had a look at howdens and they dont seem to do a similar range, have a 95% complete kitchen, just missing a few doors

    regards

    Hypercube
I have a couple of extra doors and a drawer or two in this range. I am short a 500 full height door and a 600 extractor cover. If anyone is reading this and could swap please get in touch. If you google the Hygena Hampstead you will see an ebay listing for a door I have entered, you can use that to get in touch.

    Hi,

We too ordered a home office package, after several months of searching we found very little choice on the market and felt MFI was the best value for money. I managed to get through on the phone this morning after several days trying but they couldn't give me any further info. Did they contact you direct to let you know?
I would love some advice as to where to start looking for home office furniture????

Am in exactly the same position - bedroom/office has been built around corner desk! Have been waiting since August. If you have any luck sourcing the corner desk or find out who supplies it, please let me know, MFI refused to tell me when I asked.
  • Sorry to read about all the on going problems with mfi, after this fiasco im very very weary about dealing with other kitchen companies but need to.Howdens are obvious favorites but Magnet have a decent range.Has anyone dealt with Magnet and how do you rate them ?thanks
