  • I've had an order for the outstanding parts for my kitchen (Hygena Hampstead) since 27th August, Just had confirmation from MFI and Administrators that anything due to be delivered on 27th-7th December (my delivery date was 27th) has now been cancelled.

The original Kitchen order is appx £500, but these additional doors etc came to £99 (so below the credit card claim back minimum) So, now stuck with a half finished kitchen all because they couldnt muster enough sense to deliver the kitchen units the first 2 times to the correct address!

Does anyone know of another supplier who does the Hampstead Range?

  • Hi, just to give you an update especially those with outstanding bathroom orders who have been contacted by Mark Two. I felt uneasy dealing with Mark 2 when I clicked on their website, MFI customers link. I decided to e-mail them all my concerns e.g. was the payment (additional) going to MFi, warranty, increase in price etc. Within the hour a very nice man from Mark Two got in touch and answered all my questions. He even went away and came back having matched MFI's original price. The bottom line is Mark Two no longer trade with MFI so if your bathroom is with them you will need to get a refund either via credit card or administrators, but if you still want the bathroom they have it and ask you to pay them direct (don't forget to ask them to match MFIs price). I have now done this and delivery date is next week with entitlement to return any damaged items to Mark Two within 72 days. I'll keep you posted with how it goes.

  • I have an outstanding order of £1350. I've paid £350 deposit on credit card and am expecting to be able to reclaim this from Barclaycard. What I'm unsure of from the FAQs on this website is that it says if you pay a deposit "you get the protection for the whole thing even if you only pay for a part of it on the card". Does that mean I can reclaim £1350, even though I've only actually forked out £350? I'm sure that can't be true but if it is I'm happy to give it a go!! :D

  • HI,

I'm a fitter awaiting thousand of pounds for numerous kitchens fitted for MFI. This is my income, job, means of paying my mortgage etc....I have been put on the long list of suppliers to await payment/or not.

Please could someone explain how MFI have been allowed to take money which would be due to the likes of myself and beg us fitters to continue to fit, promising payment ASAP in writing. Where has our money gone. While we sympathise with people who have ordered and paid out for kitchens, we are in positions such as maybe losing our houses as we haven't been paid for so long.

Can someone give some advise as the automated emails sontinually provided from the Administrators are useless.

Hi! Anyone know how I can get spare parts as I have been given the run around by MFI for months and now it looks like it's all too late. I really need three handles (knobs!) for the small Melbury bedside chest and eight door hinges for the Melbury cupboards. I really need to be able to finish constructing my bedroom. :xmassign:
  • Hi,

Bought mother-in-laws furniture from MFI, fortunately on credit card.

However, the delivery date was supposed to have been 25th Novwmber. Unsurprisingly it failed to arrive.

My problem is this; I can find out the administrators position on orders scheduled for delivery from 27/11/08 to 08/12/08 (cancelled) and orders scheduled for delivery 08/12/08 onwards (still under review), but I CAN'T get any one to tell me what the position is for deliveries on 25th and 26th November!

Just want to know if they are going to deliver or not. Not bothered either way, but I don't want to buy replacements if MFI are suddenly go all magnanimous and deliver the original stuff...

Sorry for rambling (it's a forum virgin thing, I expect...)

    Any advice?
    Thanks
  • Hi,

I am in exactly the same position - expected delivery of kitchen for my mother on 26th Nov, (prior to the date referred to by the administrators) failed to arrive.

Initially contacted our local MFI - person tried to be helpful & found out that part of the order was sitting in the distribution warehouse.

Subsequently emailed the MCR/MFI address. Got a reply, which was basically the same as that on the website - BUT the 27th Nov date had been removed...& just stated any order up to the 7th Dec.

I have had to take this as the order is cancelled, as we had completely gutted the kitchen ready for the new one - no appliances left connected - so really couldn't wait any longer to start making alternative arrangements.

    Hi Monstercop,

Not sure what you mean by "the hub", is it the desk space with PC's etc instore ? The bit where they sit you down and fill in the order etc ?

The thing is my invoices have different numbers etc and the first says credit card and the final second invoice says cash sale, and a refund / resale sheet in between. The saleswoman said it was just an MFI internal thing. No refund ever went on my CC and they didn't give me any cash back instore. I'm confused, I just worry incase my CC company say the original invoice was paid by CC but that was refunded and then I purchased the second invoice with the refunded cash...

    Thanks

The hub I refer to is the admin department who do all of the post-sales liaisons - not the store. Can't comment on the refund situation, but I would have thought that the credit card company would have a record of the transaction on your account, and as the supplier generally requests to put refunds on the same card as it was paid for on (avoids fraud), then there will be an auditable trail of what you paid, to who, and when, which should help.
