I also requested a refund on the 20th of november as my bathroom was not deleivered and could not give me a date as systems down for about 4days which made me un easy so decided to get a refund. I never got a receipt for refund and i paid cas but was told i could only have cheque and as of today im still waiting not heard a thing so it is not looking good

I had refund invoice issued on 20th September, yes September and I am still waiting they have told me they are holding on till administrators have sorted it out, this was long before they went into administration, been to trading standards and everything and nothing I can do. So do be honest I would not hold your breath on any refunds with them, yes stupid me paid £232 cash only because I have not had a credit card in years
  • Does anyone know the position as follows:-

I had a kitchen delivered from MFI but surprise surprise with a number of items missing.... After some heated discussions with the local branch, I managed to get a couple of these items and was promised the last outstanding items would be dleivered by 4 Dec. Therefore, we arranged with our own Kitchen fitter to fit all the parts we had. Now, we paid for the whole kitchen on credit card so what do we do, do we claim for the whole kitchen back from the Credit Card company or if it just the outstanding items, what is the use as I can't buy the outstanding items elsewhere so end up with a half fitted kitchen ?????

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    It is a Kennington Kitchen
  • We had our kitchen delivered luckily however there were shortages and a damaged panel. MBNA should deal with this apparently no problems once I inform them of the value of individual items (I can then get replacements form Howden Timber), a huge inconvinience but we are lucky compared to many.

My main problem though is that we bought a Malton Oak kitchen, the display in the store had colour matched cabinets and solid wood end panels and soft close drawrs. We were told it no longer came with soft close so paid extra for them, we were not however told side panels were now cheap laminates and cupboard fronts where white. This we found out when we started installing the kitchen. Frankly it looks cr*p and we could have gor a similar thing alot cheaper from B&Q
We feel we have been mis-sold and don't really want the goods anymore but MBNA say they they need proof that we thought we were getting solid wood. The order details part numbers that I cannot reference to anything so how can I prove this? They won't accept photos of the display kitchen etc
  • I have the same problem]

HI all, I have had about 75% of my kitchen delivered on the 24/11 and the rest to be delivered on the 18/12 I'm just hoping they can deliver them as I can't fit the kitchen without the items,I just would like to know where I stand if they don't deliver on the other bits. Can I send it back,Can I get a full refund from my credit card company even though I have had 75% of the kitchen delivered. And who owns the kitchen is the cc company or MFI .I paid £4500 pounds on two credit cards it's a real nightmare I just wanted to order a poxy kitchen and now look what's happened my wife is in a right state I have pulled most of my old units apart luckily I have left the oven and sink in,As I said I just hoping that they can deliver the rest of my kitchen by the way its the kennington range. Thanks
  • I won't bore you with the details. Most of my kitchen has been delivered but I still need a standard 600mm boxwood wall carcase and door and some handles for the Kelmscot range. Does anyone know where I might get these?
  • Hi,

I notice some people are missing items for their kitchens.

Did you know that Howdens (http://www.howdens.com/) supply MFI with the kitchens and they also sell kitchens themselves. The kitchens are called different names to the MFI ones but they are exactly the same. I know as I had an MFI kitchen in my old house and when I needed more pelmet I got it from Howdens as it was more expensive from MFI. If you can take a kitchen door in or something they can match it to the kitchen for you to get the same one. If you know someone who has an account with Howdens already you are likely to get things really cheap. We got 80% off as we have a joiner friend who is a good customer to them and we paid for cash through his account. I hope this helps someone and I'm sorry to hear that people have been let down. I hope you get things resolved.
  • PS if you are looking for the MFI Padova kitchen at Howdens its reffered to as the Hampton!!
  • Sorry this will seem as trivial compared to people's kitchens and bathrooms that are unfinished, but I really need to ask!

We ordered a sofabed from MFI in October, was due for delivery on 28th November which was summarily cancelled.I know all about refund through the credit card and that the Administrators will discuss with the credit companies directly so they don't have to issue cancellation letters.

However, it was the only sofabed we had found with the necessary dimensions to go upstairs to the study and fit in a specific space which we could see and try for ourselves. I have no inclination to buy a similarly sized flatpack sofa from Asda which cannot be returned once put together, or one from CSL at 300% the MFI price.

I have tried to find who is the manufacturer so I could get it from them, to no avail - plus with the 5 weeks delivery time it was probably sourced from China or thereabouts! Nor have I found any store display stock at a reasonable distance.

    The product is advertised here:

Anyone who can point me somewhere would have my undying gratitude! :o

But what about the bedrooms? Where can we source these from? Thanks
  • We are an ex mfi fitting company based in the South West (Somerset and Bristol area). We understand everyone's frustration as we also have an outstanding order, outstanding payments worth several thousands and about six weeks worth of work just wiped out, which we have spent a lot of time and effort on already. If anyone would like a quote for the installation of Bedrooms, Home Office or Kitchens we would be glad to quote you. We offer a fit only service (you purchase your own furniture) or can supply.
