Evening all
Squiggly was it you who asked about Ministroni? I cheat, I start with a small amount of olive oil, about a spoonful, add 1 chopped rasher of bacon, chopped onion & a couple of garlic cloves, then I add a tin of tomatoes plus a tin of water & any shrivelled veg from the fridge & some oregano, cook the whole lot gently, when it's nearly done I add some broken up pasta. I serve it with grated parmesan sprinkled over.
Woo Hoo & Whoopee Do, we finally got a cheque from BIL2, hubby is so pleased.
Still no help at work, Mrs Degree is far too busy surfing to work, she's just asked for Friday off, she hasn't done a full week yet since Sept!
Have a good evening.
Hugs Hester

from the Medised homepage
What age of child can it be used?
The medicine can be used in children from two years. Medised for Children should not be given to children under two years except on the advice of a doctor.
diphenhydramine is one of two active ingredients in Medised states and the British National Formulary states
MHRA/CHM advice (March 2008)
Children under 2 years should not be given over-the-counter cough and cold medicines containing the following ingredients:- brompheniramine, chlorphenamine, or diphenhydramine (antihistamines);
- dextromethorphan or pholcodine (cough suppressants);
- guaifenesin or ipecacuanha (expectorants);
- phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, oxymetazoline, or xylometazoline (decongestants).
I honestly did not realise that it shouldn't be given to little bear. I had always just gone by what was on the box. He loathes calpol, so medised has always been a useful standby! I feel really worried now. It's not like he has had it every day, or even every week or every month, but he has had regular doses when his nose is very snuffly!
I am really grateful that you posted this info, because I honestly thought I had been doing the right thing by little bear. I know that this is not the place to exchange health information, but I shall phone my health visitor tomorrow.
Little bear is showing signs of being more mischievous than ever. I left him alone for minutes while I found a ball of wool. I came back and he had found my bowl of soup, sat on my chair, got the bowl of soup onto his lap & contents on his lap, trousers, t-shirt, chair, cushions, scarf I was knitting, carpet... I've abandoned the scarf as I refuse to continue to knit a soup encrusted scarf.
That is what he managed in minutes.
Now he is in his cot, snuffling, and I am going to get a bowl of stardrops up and see what I can get sorted out. I think I will be considerably longer than a few minutes.
But it is quite flattering because it was home made soup.
Thank you again, Glad, I really appreciate the info.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

evening everyone!
been a long day at work followed by housework and ironing but nearly done now(done in I should say:rolleyes:)
Thankyou so much to all those asking about Lesley :T - she is still stable ATM, hopefully if she has a good week they will sort out a care package so she can go home and then start her chemotherapy which will be gruelling but will hopefully give her some more time - this is all dependent on whether it has spread to her lungs, we havent had the results yet. we have had a collection at work and need ideas of presents - i thought maybe an MP3 player as she hasn't got one and she could listen to music during her chemo. If anyone has any more ideas please let me know.
(((hugs))) to tristan, stef's DD, Ivyleaf, smoky and everyone else in need of one.
Glad - congratulations!:T
Tru - welcome back!:j

Taplady, is Lesley a reader? My Dsis-in-law is an avid reader, but during her recent hospitalisation she was very glad of a personal CD player and several talking books. She couldn't put her mind to reading but thoroughly enjoyed listening to somebody with a beautiful voice reading to her. Also when she couldn't sleep at night she could listen on the headphones without disturbing anyone else. Hoping she can have chemo, and was so pleased to read her son had made it home.You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
