Morning all!
I will probably spend today reading this website as I have done since discovering it at the weekend. I'm saving money by not going anywhere or doing anything :rotfl:
Having a lazy morning today then I'm going to Costco this afternoon to get some Christmas presents for my boys. Sausage, mash, yorkies and veg for tea. Followed by apple crumble (my favourite).0 -
Morning
Well I have made my bicarbonate of soda paste and it is sitting in the oven will leave it all day then clean it off late afternoon. Have used all my bicarbonate of soda though so will need to add that to my shopping list.
DS wet the bed last night so his bedding is in the WM and his window is wide open to let some fresh air in. His Pee is very sweet smelling not sure if thats right or not. He went to the loo at 10pm last night and had nothing else to drink. So need to wipe down his matress thankfully he is still in his cot bed and the matress is wipeable. Anyone any Ideas on what I can use for this I normally use my Ciff but I then wipe most of it off with water as I don't like the idea of the chemicals on his matress but I also want to disenfect it too.
Not sure what to do for dinner tonight will have a look.February 2013 NSD - 40 -

very cold but sunny here, i shall be braving the cold shortly with the houndies  I need to sort out a couple of the kitchen cupboards today as i`m having trouble finding things atmtrouble is they don`t seem to stay organised and tidy for very long.
Dinner tonight will be chilli con carne & jacket potatoes - i was going to do rice but MrS says that he prefers jackets so that makes it easier for me
Last day at w*rk today before a couple of days off, boy am i looking forward to it, i know that i will spend the 2 days running around like a headless chook trying to catch up with housewo*k etc but i still can`t wait.

Morning All,
Freezing here too today, luckily in the office though so nice and toasty.
WM on through the night (I'm a heavy sleeper) so washing hung up on airers and window open. No heating on during the day as no one in flat so money saved!yay!
Nothing pressing for me to do today, trying to use up food in fridge before OH comes back next week from offshore. Don't do any food shopping while he is away apart from milk/bread/veg/fruit. He is brilliant, always does a 'big shop' before he goes offshore again so I have plenty to keep me going!lol
Paid car tax for next 6months, £66 gone....
Expecting some xmas gifts to be delivered this week that I have bought online; got one yesterday.
Cuppa time...have a good day everyone, keep the OS way up!

Once it is dry maybe you could try 'anti-bac' wipes? Not very OS but I buy the big packs from Lidl and they smell really nice but also kill off the bugs. either that or Dettol spray perhaps?
difficult one as you don't want to perish the mattress with chemicals.
Good luck:oSpreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
Morning all
had a lovely long lay-in....which is unusual for me, I normally can't sleep! The sun's shining, but it's bitterly cold.
Ironing today and a trip to the shops to get a few bits in...it's surprising how little food hubby and I need nowadays...now that the girlies have all left home....very frugal!
Will have to get some baking done this week though as have no 'sweet-stuff' in...as my hubby calls it...how come he never puts weight on and I only have to look at a biscuit?!
Right thats me gone....hugs to all...and have a lovely day

Is it safe to post? Is there a smilie of someone cautiously peering round a corner.
Well, the new tablets seem to really agree with me. I feel all zingy! Whether that will transfer to housewifery is another matter
I have rather large to do list which I am determined to get done. So, I need to:
Brisket in slow cooker - that will be seven hours to tea, which I think should be enough as it is only a small bit. I shall put it in with lots of hot stock and a multitude of veggies. That's tea tonight with home made potato wedges, possible cottage pie tomorrow and rather good soup for me and little bear tomorrow lunch.
Bread maker on - to go with brisket.
Washing machine on already, but LOTS more to do.
Then - housewifery. I want to have a really good furtle. I feel in the mood to pull out the fridge and clean behind it. I do run the risk of getting so caught up in dusting the back of the fridge that I don't get anything else done but I think it a risk worth taking.
Dear heart is out tonight, so I am going to finally force myself to 'finish off' a multiplicity of scarves which I hope to put on ebay. The yarn (it's not wool, or if it is the sheep were far too near Sellafield) was extremely inexpensive and while I will get nothing near the value of minimum wage, it is something I can do while little bear is being grumpy. I loathe finishing off, but there are trails of scarves everywhere and dear heart may feel it necessary to say something soon.
The weather here is bright but cold so I hope to venture out with little bear this afternoon, depending on how he is. He has been very out of sorts. It is nothing more than a cold, I am certain. It does mean that he is being a bit less co-operative than normal, or maybe he is reaching the terrible twos. I am getting a lot of 'The Look'.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Many thanks will give these a try there is a Lidl not far from us will pop in and try these. I never thought of these. We are going to buy DS a big bed after Xmas so really want to get him dry at night before this.
Well bedding is now finished going to hang it out as it is bright but very cold but hopefully it will take most of the dampness out of the items and they will only need 5 -10 mins later in the TD.
Still no idea what to have for dinner, we have mince, caserole beef, pizza to choose from. Will have a think.February 2013 NSD - 40 -
:hello: good morning!
I haven't posted for a few days, or even read y'day's thread - will catch up later - my cold finally degenerated into sinusitis so I now have some antibiotics to take, and feel a bit better already:j
Betheebee - good luck for tomorrow, I'm glad they are finally going to sort your other arm and hand out, in the nick of time by the sound of it:eek: xxx
JackieO - I kept forgetting to say that your eldest DGS sounds a lovely young man! Congrats on your regal figure:) , that's excellent news.
((((HUGS)))) to all in need of some.
WELCOME to our new posters:wave:
I made some lovely pasta sauce yesterday. Passata, garlic, onion, dried basil, some smoked bacon, and then I added some mushrooms because they needed using up;) Felt very OS and virtuous!
Tonight's dinner will be sausages from the butcher. We bought 2 the other day, and have unearthed another 2 from the freezer. I'd really prefer pasta today, but must get the new sausages eaten so will try to think of something to have with them other than potatoes:rolleyes: Maybe cous-cous.
This morning we are going to Bluewater to get some spotlight bulbs from John Lewis - no one else stocks the ones we need any more, which is a nuisance.
DH has just been opening his post and has come to show me the thing he's bought for DGS who'll be 15 on 5th December. It's a pocket watch. Seems an odd present for a 15yo, but when he saw DH's pocket watch recently he was quite smitten, so he should be pleased with it. And, as DH said, it has the added bonus that it will make DD say "Oh Dad, you shouldn't have, he didn't need it" which always makes DH chuckle:D
All for now, must have some Weetabix and get some clothes on, can't really inflict myself on John Lewis in my jammies!
Best wishes

Hi everyone!
longforthesun, I don't have any tips for cleaning the mattress but as a precaution incase it happens again can I suggest you get some of those Pampers changing mats? They last for ages! I just put a couple under my daughter's bottom sheet, roughly where her bum would be when she's asleep and they do catch all the "accident" should it occur and saves all the worry of a wet mattress. You just change the bottom sheet and replace the changing mats!
Still no baby..... oh well.I expect you're all getting fed up with hearing it! You'll all be shocked when I announce Junior is here!
Mum and Dad came earlier to take DD to school for me so I'm still sitting here in my dressing gown having polished off a nice big mug of tea and some cheese on toast for breakfast.
I only have the washing up to do and then I will get on with sorting some more of those video tapes I need to get rid of.
Hubby may have to go to Mr T's for me later. Mum brough me a loaf in as we had not a slice in the house but we are starting to run low on things. My rummage in the freezer yesterday proved useful though as we had stuff for dinner yesterday that we forgot we had! Not very OS but there was a bag of Iceland southern fried chicken that Hubby loves and forgot was there! I can't wait to empty the freezer of all the processed stuff though so I can concentrate on being a bit more OS. You all make cooking sound so interesting and fun!!
If standing wasn't so uncomfortable at the moment I'd be turning my black bananas that are in the fruit bowl into a banana cake, and hubby and his work colleagues have been moaning that I haven't sent him to work with any Twink's hobnobs lately. Come on Junior, it's not just me who is keen for you to make an appearance!!
Hugs to everyone.I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0
