Maybe try dilute vinegar - the smell does wear off, honest. Might be worth mentioning the "sweet smell" to your GP- not intended as medical advice!

Thanks for the link on Morsbags.
Someone please tell me we have not lost penny pincher and wannabesybil as well as loads of other people?
Two machine loads of washing are out on the line in the wind.
Rolls are proving in the Remoska ready to bake for tonight as the loaf I made last night did not rise very well - first time the Panny has not been completely successful.
MrS had no turkey mince last night so had to buy pork mince instead and will cook it in the Remoska with onions and carrots and do some mash to go with it.
DD(14) wanted to order Christmas presents for her friends online and after trying several sites we finally found something at half price perfumes - they have Urban Decay nail varnish at less than a quarter of the price and lip gloss at a good price as well.
Might be really old style and get some nice material at the charity shop and hand sew a tiny stocking to put the items in. Unless she decides that would be "embarassing!"

Soapy - I do feel for you! I was a little bit early with little bear. I can still remember going over to dear heart and saying, 'I'm going to wake you up properly now - my waters have broken!'. He went from prone to upright in a split second poor man. I do hope you have an easy time. My midwife recommended ironing to bring on labour.
Re snoring - when I was on holiday I had the wonderful experience of an old cottage with far from sound proof inner walls and floors. I could lie there at night and hear the snores not only of dear heart (who swears he never snores) but also little bear and my darling father. We all had shocking colds so it was not a surprise.
On an OS note I am wondering if it safe to tumble dry fleece blankets. I only use the tumble dryer for undies and bedding, and the fleece blankets are from under little bear's sheets (he won't have them on him). Also my washer dryer is notoriously temperamental, and does tend to over heat the dryer. I don't think I'll take the risk - fleece dries so quickly anyway.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

I am very much here, though I should be doing other things. I may be 'zingy' today, but this thread has been an absolute lifeline. You will not easily shake me off - you will have to ban me, and even then I would sneak back.
Actually, I think the tablets are making me a bit manic.
I don't actually understand what a lot of the arguments were about yesterday. I am a bit worried about Money Saving Diva as well because I remember her saying that she had had a nasty pm about deliberately starting a new thread () and was quite upset. Personally, I do not believe for a second that anyone sensible enough to post on this thread would be silly enough to deliberately stay up late to start the next day's thread but apparently that was the accusation made.
Should I feel grateful that I have not had a nasty pm or left out? There does seem to be some around.
And I have nothing OS to put in this post!:p
There are so many lovely people posting on here, I don't understand why it has got so, well, tetchy.
Hugs to all and especially to candygirl - I hope it all went well at the doctors.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Soapy I think I may have some of those changing mats somewhere I remember buying them when he was still in nappies and I am sure I never used them all. Great Idea.
Elona will try vinegar it cant do any harm. The sweet smell is strange it really does not smell like normal pee he has had problems he gets urine infections all the time he has even had scans on his kidneys but all seems fine but as I am never away from the Drs with him I will mention it next time. He hasn't been in a few weeks so we must be due a visit.
Still no idea for dinner think I will let DH decide when he gets in. DH and I were watching the pre budget report yesterday and the BBC kept putting up bullet points one of them started Darling, DH said "look the bbc have gone all MSE. I had to point out that Darling was the chancelors surname and not like in MSE where we refer to Darling Husbands and Darling Sons. He felt a bit silly not knowing the chancellors name. oh soapy - good luck - each of mine were 10days plus late with the record being youngest at 15 days who because of her tardiness went over the threshold for starting school and was stuck with me for another year. i got so fed up with people saying "haven't you had that baby yet" like they couldn't see my impression of a barrage balloon
dd has phoned - she has definitely miscarried - tbh I'm glad it's all over - I'm going to hers wih dgs now to tuck her up in bed and have a mega clean - i've got bread in the bm though so will take it out, bung it in the fridge and hope for the bestI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Can I just point out that PM's are short for Private Messages and should remain exactly that, private. If anyone does receive a nasty pm it should be reported to abuse in the normal way and not posted on the boards or to other people. Incidentally if you read Penny Pinchers post you will see that she said she pm'd "relevant users", not that she received any pm's nasty or otherwise.
OS today... nope still dancing and singing to Mamma Mia and tonight it will be something ping, ping from M&S0 -

Still a bit worried about Money Saving Diva. I know Pen Pin said she had pm'd people, but I just took it as a sign that there was a lot of not niceness underneath the surface, which is so sad on a lovely board.
Anyway, this brisket that has been hanging over my head like a trussed sword of damocles - into the slow cooker, some country mix stuff that does not need pre soaking and... all my veggies had gone yueurk. So I added a packet of dried mushrooms (Whitworths - I only understand ordinary mushrooms) and a packet of dried country vegetables and some extra water.
Does anyone know of a good place to get dried veggies? I quite like the little packets from Whitworths because they are inexpensive and if suddenly you find that the veggies you were relying on are crawling towards the compost you at least have something. I normally get grocery deliveries from Sainsburys but their dried veggies are the sort that Gordon Ramsay uses. I may investigate the possibility of Asda. Our local Asda is impossible to reach without a car, and I can't drive. However, they do deliver locally... Also I would like to find a reliable source of wheatgerm.

Hi - just coming back on to sympathise with Ivyleaf - sinusitis is HORRID because it makes your whole body, inside and out, feel ill. I hope the antibiotics are doing their job. I've had it a few times and think it's a vicious illness.
Soapy - you won't stay pregnant forever, although it must feel like it. My first was a week late (but arrived on my birthday so I was delighted - best birthday present ever!) and my second was was due on Boxing day but decided to completely wreck Christmas and arrive three weeks early! Whenever your little one arrives it'll be worth the wait!
Well, I have just been out to the village and it was freezing; I wore my long coat, hat, scarf, gloves and boots managed to keep warm despite the wind. The sun is shining brilliantly so I won't grumble.
I bought some YS chicken and lamb to put in the freezer and priced up the free-range turkeys at the butcher's. Like Tru's butcher, mine has them for £3.50 per pound so I shall order mine when I've decided what size to get. I wanted to pick up a few things in Iceland - their pickles, Oxos and so on are much cheaper than the supermarkets, but the place was packed out, as were both the charity shops. A real sign of the times, methinks.
Well, off to do the ironing - I keep forgetting it because DH said he would do it last weekend while I typed up his invoices, but he didn't get round to it. He did do all my veggies for Sunday's dinner and even, under instruction, made a plum crumble, so he wasn't completely useless!

Good afternoon everyone
I'm having quite a productive day so far. It is dry and bright here so the washing is blowing on the line. I have mutton stew in the slow cooker and an apple crumble ready for pudding.
I'm going to a neighbour's house for coffee in a while and will try to tackle the ironing bfore the school run.
Hugs to ((((Stefejb and her DD))))
Get well soon Ivyleaf

Anyway.. Morning everyone!!
Sorry I haven't been here for a couple of days and thank you for missing me, those who mentioned me. As you can see I am back and enjoying the sunshine and reading up on all I missed.
I can't comment on the PP bullying issue as I didn't see anything but I do want to just say I would miss any of the regs posting on here and that it was sad to see Mondays thread the busiest this thread has been for ages, but some of it due to people falling out with each other.
Squiggly - I think most butchers have oxtail available now... I just asked for enough for 4 people and they gave me the peices already chopped up.. It actually fed 6 of us cos we bulked it up with a few more veg than on the list...lol
Susiebloo - Welcome honey!
redruby - hope the soup was nice
taplady - hugs to you and lesley
catsnine - sorry to hear the news about your DD - hope she finds something else soon
Sybil - thank you for missing me - and thank you for enjoying my recipes, I love sharing them!
Soapy - any sign yet? I am starting to feel like an expectant 'Aunt' here waiting to hear the news..
N9eav - I am with you there.. the govt are just building up a nice big bill for us to pay next year or the year after. We will end up paying for any so called savings we might make now and I do not see that shaving a bit off VAT is going to make everyone suddenly go out and spend money.
Ok, sorry, rant over.
Thank you to all who mentioned Tristan in your messages - I do pass them on to him.
So anyway - the Oxtail casserole lasted us two nights with a good bowlful left for todays lunch and lots of 'gravy' which I have saved for the next stew to use as stock or soup. The second night we added a big spoonful of frozen chilli to it so it had a real tang to it.
Tonight I think something with mince in it... not sure what yet but it's always a good fall back meal for us having frozen mince in the freezer! We didn't get the 'office' sorted this weekend, so its still full of junk behind me and OH has nowhere to set up his laptop, so keeps sighing and talking about being 'homeless'..:rotfl:
Hope you all have a great day -to those who need them and congrats to anyone who is celebrating today!
