Errmh, Thought medical advice was not allowed on here, as was pointed out on previous posts.
I'm happy for it to be removed now sybil has seen it :)
I am aware of the rules but in this case as the info sybil had on her box of medicine was contradicting the official guidelines I thought I'd point them out, so I see it as providing information
and I was advising sybil to take the advice of her pharmacist and NOT give babe the medicine,

if I wanted to give medical advice on how to treat him and what medication to give, I'm qualified to do so, but she doesn't know that and it's against the rules so I wont :)

better safe than sorry where a child is concerned don't you think :)

    Not really advice:o but information.

Glad hasn't told me what I should or shouldn't do. I didn't realise that I was giving little bear stuff that was too old for him according to the web - but the box (small one bought recently) says from 3 months - a genuine mistake. It was only when I thought I should get a back up box and the chemist wouldn't sell it that I was given an idea that what I was doing was wrong. I do rather rely on the 'old hands' on here pointing me in the right direction as both myself and dear heart have lost our mothers.

Of course I am fretting, but I am sure that little bear is fine. And currently comfortably asleep. For now!

Some OS stuff from the House of Gers!

I managed to make and freeze 7 portions of chilli con carne from 500g of mince salvaged from the bottom of my freezer. The addition of red lentils and TVP made it stretch more than Queen Victoria's knicker elastic.

AND I got 6 portions of pea and mint soup from a packet of frozen peas, a bunch of mint and some onions.

Apart from that nothing interesting!! But I do enjoy reading what others have done/have not done.

All I have to do now is resist the pressure to buy/write/send Christmas cards to people I hardly see, don't really like and don't want to see again. For the past 7 years I have refused to spend any time, money or effort in this pointless exercise and feely totally fulfilled because of it. I really don't need a card from someone I talk to or work with every day to feel 'wanted'. No, not 'bah humbug' just 'get a grip'!

Love this phrase! I shall remember it and if you give permission I shall pass it off to dear heart as my own!!! ;)

Taplady, is Lesley a reader? My Dsis-in-law is an avid reader, but during her recent hospitalisation she was very glad of a personal CD player and several talking books. She couldn't put her mind to reading but thoroughly enjoyed listening to somebody with a beautiful voice reading to her. Also when she couldn't sleep at night she could listen on the headphones without disturbing anyone else. Hoping she can have chemo, and was so pleased to read her son had made it home.

thankyou churchmouse. she does like reading so that is a great idea -I was only thinking of music but books would be great too!:T
