Not much done here. Washing hung on airer. DD's room tidied and clothes put away. Also sorted out the cupboard with the CD's in them and have bagged up all the empty cases
fed up with getting a CD out and no disc in there. Have also soaked the microfibre cloth I use in the kitchen in bleach and wiped a few bits and bobs. Washed out the fruit bowl as its glass and shows every little mark:rolleyes:
OH downloaded me Brokeback mountain and have watched that this morning and is quite a good film. Quite graphic in places but a nice love story, although sad.
OH has text me to let me know they have arrived safely and should be home about 5'ish, so willget dinner on about 4.30, so its all ready for them when they get back in.

Afternoon everyone. Very hectic morning rushing round trying to find a guinea pig hutch for less than 50 quid. One shop wanted 125.00 for some very posh tudor style ones. Pretty to look at but not very practical when the door has fallen off your hutch and it is 2 days before payday
It's been fixed so much it's now beyond repair and we found one of the guinea pigs outside this morning with strange cats prowling around, luckily one of our cats was standing guard over it and chasing off any cat that got too close.
Managed to find one eventually at our local Countrywide store, I don't go there very often as it's so hard to get in and out of but I will be going back as they have some lovely cheap chicken houses. Just waiting for XDH to come and pick our son up and then maybe I can get some house work done.
I seem to have managed to get the arthritis under control this morning with a mixture of Ibrupofen and Glucosamine, it still hurts but I can at least use my hands this morningOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi folks.
Went to Costco this morning mainly for loo rolls. Came back with HUGE tray of beef mince. Had read on a thread here before that its meant to be really good so thought I would give it a try. Didn't realise how big it was until I started separating into freezer bags. Phoned my mum and she said she will take some too. Also got deodorants, razor blades for hubby and a dragon kite. This looks massive and was only £7. Will put it away for stepson's Christmas.
Load of washing on just now and probably another one to do. Hopefully it will all be dry to get ironed tomorrow. Or perhaps I will just leave it and hubby can do it on Monday
Have given the place a quick tidy and hoover. Apart from that nothing much else needing doing.
Dinner plan at moment is steak pie, mashed potato, roast potato and veg. Although I find I don't always have much of an appetite at the weeked so this may change
Stepson is staying at grandparents tonight so taking advantage of a child-free evening and going to visit friends for a
Luckily they only live about 5-10 min walk away so not too far. Male friend worked with my hubby and they were both laid off work just before Christmas so we are all in same boat. We always have a good laugh when we get together so think it will do us all good to get cheered up.
Just a special note for Graham - good luck whatever happens with your friend. And if you do meet then please tell us all about it. I love a bit of romance!!
Anyhoo have a nice Saturday everyone.
Bye for now.0 -
Hi all
It's just me and the small person today as OH is at a show in London and has just rung up rather glum because he's not sold much. We'll have to see how this afternoon fares.....
Not doing masses today as had mega busy one yesterday. Have done a dark load and tidied up the house and then dropped in at the library en route to my Mum's.
We'll be having the shepherd's pie tonight that I made last night and tomorrow I'm going to try out the bread pudding recipe I got from here.
Am very pleased as having picked up a Reader's Digest cookery book for 20p which gives recipe for every month. Some of them look a bit dated but shall be giving some a whirl and will post them if I think they're any good.

Hi all
I was up at 6, drove hubby to work as the public transport round here is a joke at the weekend. Went to Asda on the way home spent £65 on food, that should last 2 weeks. WM is on it's 3rd load & the rads are all festooned with washing. I've blitzed the kitchen & am now sitting down with a cuppa & am going to decide my next fortnights menu & put it on the notice board in the kitchen so everyone know what's to eat. Hope everyone has a good weekeknd.

I have made my own herby tortillas and will stuff them with onion, garlic, peppers, mushrooms and cheese for DDs.
Pea and ham soup is in the slow cooker for DH and me.
Went to Castleford market and got loads of veg and some nice birthday cards and new baby cards as a cousin of my husband has just had a baby boy.
Also got two cute little cream baby outfits with winnie the pooh characters on them. Original disney stuff and a really good buy.
Looking forward to getting my new glasses but it will take about two weeks till they arrive.
At least with my hair cut and styled I no longer resemble and olde English sheepdog and can see where I am going even if it is a bit blurred.

Evening All,
It s been a couple of days since my last proper post, been trying to get some packing done as its just hit me that I only have 4 more weekends here!!!!!! CRIKEY!!!!
Today have been in the lift armed with parcel tape and taped up all the packed boxes. Have also cleaned and tidied the entire garage - SPIDERS  and put 2 loads of rubbish out for dh to take to the tip. Have cleaned up my old cot and crib and given them to my neighbour as her neice has just had a baby girl. Should really have put them on ebay but she has done lots for us while we have lived here so it felt good to give something in return.
Kids have just had broccoli and turkey with gravy for tea, cant get them to eat spuds  . I'm reheating some bombay potato from yesterday and dh will have some sausge casserole from the freezer.
Finished indexing the Slow Cooker Collection today with Squeaky - YAY US!
Mammoth day baking ahead of me tomorrow, DSD is here so will have 4 kids in the kitchen helping (make that hindering) me. Still, they love it and its good for them.
Got to try and vax the front room floor tonight once kids are in bed. Am so impressed with how much rubbish comes out of the floor I've become quite addicted to it.
Off now to make a coffee before starting on the dishes,
Chat later

OH & DD came back early as the weather looked like it was going to snow again.
Did the dinner, but the mashed potatoe has gone all horrible and glueyget this every so often, so looks like the rest of the spuds in the bag will either be roasts or jackets. OH has just gone to get a bag of chips to share as the rest of dinner is done....so annoying.
Washed DD's bedspread this afternoon and dried on the line, so smells all lovely and fresh. Washing on airer all nearly dried and has either been put away or in ironing basket.
After tea DW will go on, DD will have a bath, then we will settle down to watch Lost S2-E12:j i luv this series!
We are getting so much dust here ATM, is anyone else having this problem and if so, what can I do to cut it down????
Thanks
PP

productive day today
DD had a few friends round to do some revising and DS had a friend coming too so they both worked hard this am and got all the sat housework done in an hour,
I've made a large post of tomato and lentil soup which should do me for a few nights packed lunches and everyone else for lunch tomorrow while I'm in bed sleeping, DD's friends said 'wow your house smells yummy' referring to the soup smell
just made a big pot of bolognese too, half for dinner tonight and half to freeze
WM on 3rd load today and most has been dried in TD, what can't be TD I hang on hangers to dry,
it's freezing cold outside so maybe we are due snow too, :j
PP I don't know how you manage to dry washing outside in this weather, mine stays wet
sorry don't know why you get so much dust, have you got wooden floors? mine seem to attract loads of dust, or is it just that you can see it better with no carpetI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
