    LOL @ kiwichick :D

No - you're not alone. I have a vax 6151 and know how much grot comes off even a supposedly clean carpet. In fact, I need to shampoo the downstairs carpets again soon - it really is a never ending job, but you'll be glad you have a 3 in 1 now.

And isn't it frighteneing when you realise you're are becoming your mother - despite all those protestations you made as a teenager :D I can hear myself day by day, saying all those things my mum used to. However, what surprises me is that my little sister - (who lives 00's of miles away and has no kids), is even more like her now than my other sister and I am :D:D

That reminds me - a friend of mine has a son, who, when he was 6, announced that when he grew up he was going to be a woman, just like his mum. She asked what he meant and he replied so that he could go to work and drive a car. Her husband is a SAHD :rotfl:

Hope you have all had a good day. I've had to finish work early as my mum was not well. Ended up taking DS into town, and paying for car tax for the year:eek: , and posting a parcel. Also cheated and bought a ready cooked chicken from tescos for tea, as I was running late to make tea on time. Saw my old sofa in charity shop window for £15, hope they make some money out of it. My living room now looks very bare, and OH suggested getting a snooker table:rolleyes: . Said our new sofas would be better instead. Sorry to hear that a few of you are ill with sore throats etc. My OH thinks he has got the start of "man - flu". Have currently left him to the mercy of DS whilst I have a break on here. Im going to make some carrot and tomato soup tonight, and enjoy reading my book. Have got into Jane Austen recently. Have a good night ...POwie

just about to let hubby dish up the chicken and lentil casserole from the SC, I find that a handful of lentils will thicken up a casserole nicely, home made bread courtesy of daughter,

must be careful what I grab for afters though as there is a heart in the fridge for son to disect in school tomorrow, hopefully he won't disect his pastie and eat the heart :D

    Hi All,

Am sitting in the kitchen with the delish smell of HM fruit crumble wafting up my nose - mmmmmmmmmm.

Very OS this one. Each day the kids have sliced apple with lunch, any thats not eaten gets chucked in the freezer. Also, thanks to my £10 argos juicer the girls have decided they like fresh apple juice. The pulp from that also goes in the freezer. Whenever the kids have rice pud I chuck in a tin of peaches which have been blitzed, to up their 5 a day. The juice from the tin goes in the freezer too.

So today I got the various bits out, chucked apple bits, pulp and a tin of value peaches in a dish. Melted juice in a saucepan then thickened with cornflour and poured over fruit. Covered with crumble and hey presto,el cheapo HM fruit crumble :D Cant wait to eat it (apologies for yet again falling off the weight loss wagon TM)

Tonight am vegging in front oftv after I finish packing the stuff I've sorted from under the stairs. I done 5 boxes of clothes in the last 2 days, where the heck do they come from???

SIL came round with some lovely Disney Princess curtains, an uplighter and valance sheet for dd1. Will be MUCH cheaper to decorate her new room at the new house now :D

Off to get babes into their jimjams now.

Evening everyone, Apart from painting DD's new room and putting up the wardrobe which is coming tomorrow the room is nearly finished. I am exhausted and DH has collapsed on the sofa after spending the day putting up the shelves in her room and her new curtains.

So it's just the painting to do tomorrow and hope the wardrobe arrives in time to put it together before her bedtime :D Then I have to start work on putting the rest of the house back to order again :D

ps Kiwichick you are far from sad, We had to get out the new Vax Rapide tonight as DD spilt red wine all over the carpet. The look of shock on both our faces when the grotty grey carpet turned to a lovely cream again was a picture. DH now says it's the best 70 quid we have ever spent.

Forgot to mention - Debenhams sale ends at the weekend. If you have one near you, it's worth taking a look. Clothing is actually cheaper than Matalan/Charity Shops at the moment ;) (I posted my bargains in the Feb Pin Money thread so won't repeat it here).

    'Morning Queenie, 'Morning Everyone :hello:

Have been busy the last couple of days and not been able to get online, but I woke up at 4.50 this morning and I've spent a lovely half hour going through Martin's newsletter. Martin takes me to other bits of the forums as I don't often move out of OS :o

So I now have lots of posts to catch up on in OS before I go for my bath.

Have a lovely OS day everyone :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

It's great isn't it :D Have you also tried clicking the "New Posts" button? I often get led off to other areas that way and nearly always find something useful that I didn't know I needed to know until I stumble across it <---- if that makes sense LOL

    Enjoy your bath :):)
