Precious Little One - Grantham

They are the cheapest on the web and because of this I placed an order using a personal credit card for my day nursery, hence billing and delivery address are different. Precious Little Ones called me on the telephone number supplied (work) and asked all sorts of questions "for security" including my home telephone number. I refused to give this as we are ex-directory and do not wish to have intrusive phone calls from 3rd parties attempting to sell us stuff we neither want nor need. The girl on the phone stated that if I refused to give her these details she would cancel the order as security would be breached! When I pointed out that this was utter rubbish she said it was her bosses policy to get all these personal details so unless I told her what she wanted to know I wouldn't get the goods. I was ordering £200+ of goods and asked if she was sure her company, particularly in this economic climate would want to lose the business. She said she didn't care as it wasn't her business. Nice. We wouldn't deal with PLO again and would suggest everyone else thinks twice too.0

Precious Little Ones are a company to avoid. Their customer care is lacking and response to complaints involve them failing to listen or use common sense. Pay a bit extra it will stop you having any stress when you could be looking after your children.Wish I had never looked at their web site0

Oh dear,
Our pushchair, which we purchased in August, for out little man who came in December has a fault. The latch that allows the chair to fold no longer works, I found this out in a car park today. No way was the chair going into the book so I had to take a screwdriver to it.
Looking at their website and they are saying they offer a 6 months warranty. :rotfl: Also their report a fault link has no way of reporting the fault.
Are they for real. No doubt I have a battle on my hands with this company. Hopefully I can go direct to britax and they will sort this out for us.0 -
I found this thread before purchasing a travel system and mattress from PLO. I nearly didn't order from them because of it although they were by far the cheapest. I decided to risk it basing my decision on the fact that people are more inclined to leave bad reviews than good ones.
My delivery arrived on time (although no despatch confirmation email did start to get me worried). Unfortunately the mattress was missing, I phoned customer services and got through on my second attempt, I spoke to a very helpful lady who promised to send one out. This arrived the very next day, so personally I would recommend. :j0 -
I have been looking for a rocking horse as a present for my niece's 1st birthday. I came across to the Precious Little Ones website and managed to find a rocking horse that I like. I then discovered Precious Little Ones offers 'Price Match Promise + 10% Discount' on its website. So I filled in an online Price Match request form with the details of where I found the same rocking horse being sold cheaper on the internet. On the following day, I received a response from Precious Little Ones with a unique promotional code. I was so excited that I thought I had got myself a good deal on the rocking horse. But soon I entered the code on the website, the new price came up and was still more expensive than the match price. So I wrote to Precious Little Ones again and asked for why.
They explain:
The item costs £84.95 at Precious Little Ones
The same item costs £74.89 on another website
The other company charges £5.49 for delivery charge, therefore the cheapest price becomes £80.38
The 10% discount only applies on the difference, so it's 10% of £4.57 (£84.95-£80.38), which is 46p
After all these effort and time I was writing to Precious Little Ones, they can only offer me '46p' cheaper on the rocking horse. I think the whole thing is mis-leading and a complete waste of space.
If Precious Little Ones cannot offer a 'proper' deal to its customers, they are better not to advertise this stupid 'Price Match Promise + 10% Discount' scheme. It's just a pathetic dirty way to trade!!!
And also, the manufacturer is selling the same rocking horse for £85 with free delivery. Honestly, why should I be bothered to buy things from Precious Little Ones?
So annoyed with the whole things!
Never ever shop with them! Be warned!!0 -
Although I have not read good things about this company, their website does not mislead on the discount:
PreciousLittleOne Price Match Details
Find it cheaper & we'll match the price plus 10% of the difference!
terms apply
I would agree that the homepage does not explain it in detail. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I ordered a Hauck product from onlinebabybargains it took me to Ebay but it arrived within 2 days so can't be bad!0

I have found their discount code a con. I ordered a monitor from this shop for September delivery and ordered some other bits to entitle me to the discount for 'liking' them on facebook. They then informed me over 6 weeks later that the monitor was not available until November. As I am due at the beginning of October this is no good to me. I believe that as this is their fault they should honour the discount code but they have refunded me £120 for the £130 monitor I purchased. 'Customer service' very rude and unhelpful. I would not purchase anything from them again.0

The seat was the cheapest I could find, but it arrived with a huge crack in the carry handle. It's impossible to get through to customer services by telephone, the line's constantly engaged.
In frustration I opened a paypal dispute and after about 1 week PLO offered to collect the car seat, this took several days to arrange. The seat is now back with them over a week and they're now saying they'll refund only AFTER I've closed the paypal dispute. Paypal say not to close the case unless you're 100% happy as the case can't be re-opened.
Until this is resolved I'm over £100 out of pocket, just glad I didn't go ahead and order the nursery furniture from these people.
Hi i understand that you had some trouble with "precious little one" with it arriving with a crack through the carry handle. You said that you opened a paypal dispute and the "precious little ones" offered to collect the car seat and now with them saying they will only refund once you have closed the paypal dispute you are still £100 out of pocket. I also had this problem and i was just wondering if you eventually got your refund and if you would be able to email me personally on holman_123@hotmail.co.uk
many thanks0 -
I was recommended to PLO through BOUNTY.COM after me and wife ordered a baby rocker (concord rio rocker lava).
It was given a discount code through BOUNTY.COM reducing the price down to £59.95 from £96.95. We ordered as soon as it went on offer on 18th May and when tracked on line that same day it said dispatched and PLO say next day delivery.
On the 23rd May we had still not recieved the item so i called PLO to find out where it was.
I spoke to a women called "JO" who advised me that the item was being sent to the store in grantham from the suppliers and we will recieve it on the 30th May.
On the 30th May i called PLO again to find out where it was this time i spoke to a lady called "KIM" she said there has been an error and it will be sent out today delivered on the 31st May.
Less then 2 mins later i get a call from "KIM" saying the item has been discontinued and they no longer have it in stock!!! I said that when we ordered this item it was in stock and it even said out for delivery which we should of recieved on the 19th May 2012, To which her response was it was in stock and we now have none left and there had been a technical fault on the computer which meant your order didnt make to the warehouse to be shipped out. I said well there should still be one left in the warehouse that should be assigned to me. But she said no there isnt any left.
Kim then said all we can offer is a refund!!
I then asked that PLO have other colours in stock and as it’s your fault cant you send one of those out as compensation or a good will gesture. To which her response is no we can’t honor that as the difference is too much (£37) so we can only offer a refund .
(THE SAME ITEM DOES EXISIT BUT THEY HAVE CHANGED THE NAME FROM LAVA TO BLACK KNIGHT)
Not happy I contacted trading standards to find out my rights
And PLO was in breach of breaking:
The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000
I was advised by them to get to try and see if they would reconsider the offer I made to them or I am well in my rights to take them to a small claims court.
PLO would not budge on the idea and more then happy on small claims court.
As my wife who is due anytime searched and found this item on another website so we decided to re order as we don’t want all the hassle just before our baby is born. I am now awaiting a refund!!
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE AND OPENLY ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE MADE MISTAKES BUT WILL NOT COMPENSATE YOU FOR THEM. I FEEL THAT KIM AND JO WITH THEIR APOLOGIES SHOW NO SINCERITY AND FEEL DEEPLY DISSAPOINTED THAT WE COULD NOT HAVE ITEM.
I am now writing a letter of complaint to the managing directors of the company IAN AND NICOLA LLOYD which I had to go and research as Kim and Jo would not provide me with there names or even let me speak to them they are also not mentioned on any of PLO's website
I will also be writing to BOUNTY.COM in regards to the bad treatment we received from PLO and hopefully consider they promoting of PLO
ON AN UN HELPFUL POSITIVE NOTE KIM CONFIRMED THAT ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT ORDERED THE SAME ITEM ALL HAD THERES SHIPPED OUT TO THEM AND EVEN THOUGH WE ARE THE ONLY CUSTOMER WITH AN OUTSTANDING ITEM THEY ARE WE ADAMANT THET THEY WOULD NOT MEET THE OBLIGATION OF SUPPLYING US WITH A SIMILAR MODEL EVEN AS A GOOD WILL GESTURE IT WAS REFUND ONLY!
Sorry for the long message
Hope this helps for people in the future0
