  • Thanks for all replies to my original rant. I thought this might amuse you all as it highlights how ridiculous this company is.

So I waited over a month for my buggy, it was returned not repaired and I now finally have it back repaired (to be fair PLO they managed to return it the second time within a week - why then does it take so long normally!).

Anyway - today I have had another buggy delivered to my house. A Britax Vigour 4 - not mine! So another poor customer out there will be waiting on a buggy being returned which is now sitting in my house!

This company needs to get its act together!
  • Hi,

i really wanted to post in this thread although i have never posted anything in a forum before but here goes. I own a baby shop . We are really small but focus really hard on customer service and trying to help people. I'm not saying i'm perfect i make a lot of mistakes by i always try my hardest to find a solution to the problems. We have been fortunate as we are well established and this has helped us to overcome the pressure that the big internet companies put on us. I must admit it seems like plo, tlf and others you have mentioned in this thread are driving customers back to us little guys. In fairness we all have the same problems as sometimes manufacturers do delay getting the goods to us and that is a problem which is industry wide and the shops as a result get the brunt of the customers anger but at the end of the day that is what we are there for, to sort out the problems. I usually find that it helps if you talk to people and give them realistic waiting times. Some big companies take orders on a certain product based on 7 to 14 days delivery times when i know that there is a minimum of a 6 week waiting list. I think the reason the industry does get a bad name and many complaints is that most people who start in this business fall into it because of having a family and realising there is a gap in the market and then we have a massive learning curve, however i don't for one second think that this a good excuse for poor service.

One thing is for sure those shops that care will be the ones to survive and many others will go down. For now from my point of view although our prices are sometimes a little more expensive, small is beautiful and i have a better chance of managing my business properly and hopefully sorting out some of the problems that big companies cause us than the bigger companies who seem to have taken on more than they can handle.

Thanks for listening and sorry it turned into an essay.

Not a first time poster nor an employee but I ordered my Travel System from them and had a very good customer experience. Given this was the 3rd company I tried to order this particular system from they were a life saver!! (The other 2 failed to deliver despite stating they have stock on their sites) I am sorry to hear of others experiencing problems.

This is my first post on MSE and I just wanted to add that I also have not had any problems with PLO. I bought a Graco Mojo stroller considerably cheaper than on the high street and it turned up fine and dandy a few days later. The only difference I can add is that I bought this in May 08 so maybe something fundamental has changed within the company since then

(I found this thread while googling PLO to look for another pushchair lol)

  • Orded from Grantham store 23 days ago and got told it would be here in 14 days, never got given a direct phone number for the store. Keep ringing an 0845 number and just keeps ringing to answer phone. Very dissapointed as im needing the pram and carseat ASAP with my due date in 20 days!!!

Looks like PLO had some issues over Chrsitmas/New Year, but I just wanted to add my recent positive experience to balance the tables a little.

Bought a cot mattress and another small item (to qualify for the free p&p!!) on Monday, got two emails from them and one from ParcelForce shortly afterwards so I had a tracking number for their next day delivery. ParcelForce of course managed not to find my house until the day after, but I am sure this was nothing to do with PLO!!

Goods arrived in good condition, and like I say would have been next day if ParcelForce had got their act together (which they did incidentally more than make up for the next day, when I phoned to complain and they made a detour from their route to ensure the goods were with me within half an hour!)
  • Hi, This thread nearly put us off buying from Precious Little Ones but we took a chance as the cost for the buggy we wanted was cheaper than anywhere else by £40 and delivery was free.

I ordered it online on Sunday night and got a confirmation email immediately. I got an email from Parcel Force on Monday morning confirming dispatch of the item with a tracking number and they delivered the buggy on Tuesday morning at 11.00am.

The buggy was in perfect condition.

I couldn't have had a better service and although I realise companies often make mistakes this one can obviously get things spot on sometimes.

Like the post above I was nearly put off PLO by the previous messages.

Fortunately, I wasn't because after ordering my child seat on the Wednesday afternoon, they dispatched it on Thursday (with confirmation email from Parcelforce) and the item was actually delivered at 9 o'clock on Friday morning.

    Excellent service and highly recommended.

I had originally ordered it from Amazon but after waiting 4 weeks for stock they put it back another 4 weeks so I gave up.

All these new posters thats have had good experiences, what a coincidence :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Should have read this thread first ...

We've order two items from LtillepreciousOne

first was claimed to have been delivered, no tracking number, never arrived. After several emails we managed to get it delivered (but had to be a bit agressive to actually get what we paid for ..)

Second item never arrived - it's been over a month now.
No response to emails, phone line is busy and call cut off after 6-7 rings

Poor service, not recommended unless you like not getting the product paid for and not getting responses
