I've just been looking at the ticket more carefully and noticed that they have got my registration number wrong. Does this make it unenforceable? My car is a lease car that is going back to the company in 10 days anyway.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

Just to be clear, is this a council PCN or a private paking company 'ticket'?0 -
Council. I've also noticed that the offence is listed as 06 which I think refers to an 'on road' offence whilst I was actually in a car park which should be 80 something I think.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

Hi Peeps
I had a letter sent to my house 2 weeks ago...stating the CEO 'handed' a PCN to me...which was a complete lie!!!
I have not recieved any PCN nor was it on my windscreen...i have applied it saying they must send me evidence of this if not will be taking them to small claims court for undue stress on me both mentaly and financially...and when i made my representation and personally handed in the parking shop, so i know they definetly got it.
after 2 weeks they sent me a letter...they sent me reminder letter saying i have to pay £100 withing 14days or make a representation????? acting if they didnt get the letter and i know for a defo they reiceved my representation becuase when i post it in the appeals box (in the parking shop the have a appeals box) one of the admin team came and took all the apeals that was in the box.
B******S im gonna call them up and gonna give them a verbal!!! will keep you guys posted.
i had an increased fine for a PCN not being paid, i was completely unaware of the PCN in the first place, and the fine had gone up due to non payment, fighting back and forth with letters it eventually became apparent the ticket was never handed to myself (as i had informed them) although the warden noted he had given it to me in his hand, i received an apology??? from the issuing company and was told that was the end of the story and that the PCN had been cancelled, and that the matter should never have gone this far. Strangely enough the warden was at liberty not to attend court when i asked! i told them to bring it on and see me in court! I was originally told the wardens were not on commission but a Watchdog (or similiar) programme aired shortly afterwards clearly showed this was very much the case.

You need to check if the signs in the car park were correct and if all the wording on the PCN is correct.
The council won't make you pay up front and there IS an appeals procedure!
pepipoo.com is your best bet for checking if they've got everything in order.0 -
I have received a letter today from a private parking company who say on 3rd dec 2007 my car was parked illegally and was issued with a civil penalty charge notice of £40. There was no ticket put on the windscreen and nothing was ever received in the post, i have a parking pass to attend the university (it was their car park) i do not therefore need to buy a parking ticket, the university can confirm i am in ownership of this pass and have used it for a period of 2 years. The letter received today was the first correspondence i have received from this company. There was never an opportunity to make any payment whatsoever even if the pass had been blown on the floor when i shut the door? (i'm summising) Even if their over zealous warden were to have not looked for my pass (are they actually trained to look for these passes?) what happened to the alledged ticket? and further why wasn't a second notice (reminder) sent out. Strange that the very first letter sent 14.11.08 has clearly arrived very safely at my clearly visible address. They are trying to bully me into now paying £120 and threaten me that in 14 days they will issue a county court summons and that i will be liable to pay any courts costs, administration and any outstanding interest. I have written a stern letter back and already put it in the post recorded. Does anyone know of an organisation/body you can complain to when a company carry out their works in an unethical manner, i believe these private companies are completely unregulated and therefore can do whatever they like. I am insisting on them sending me evidence. The company are called Maxim securities.0

Orford, that facility is already here.
Look at the forum index listing, Forum Tools, Post New Thread.
i was going to ask the same question as above, new today, i have submitted my post but i think it is following somebody elses thread, i could only see 'post reply' where is the form indes listing to be found? the only way i could get to 'post new thread' is via your kind link here, hopefully this may help other extremely new newbies,
thanks0 -
By "forum index listing" I meant the screen that gives a list of the threads on a particular forum.
For example, this is what I meant by the Motoring & Public Transport forum index listing, where you can click on "Forum Tools" to discover a dropdown list with "Post a New Thread" on it.
Sorry to have wandered so far off topic. :beer:0 -
