Parking Ticket Appeals discussion

Just to be certain, this is a private parking company, not a council ticket?
If so just ignore them, they will send 3 or 4 threatening letters and then move on to easier prey.
If you are in any doubt have a read of the stickies at the top here:

It is a private company called Excel, apparently they have mentioned in The Sheffield Star where other people have complained about them. Thanks.0

Ah, Excel. They've already lost in court here:

I very much doubt they want a repaet performance, especially if they have admitted in writing that you paid and displayed a ticket0 -
I parked between 10pm Friday and 10am Sunday in a suspended resident´s parking bay (The notice stated that the suspension applied between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday). For this privelege I received 2 parking tickets. One ticket was rain-soaked and had turned to pulp. With how many tickets can I be served for a single "park"? Is the rain-soaked ticket valid if I cannot read it?0

I understand that they have been writing to people, telling them that they appealed and won! This is not true. They were not even granted leave to appeal. However, I believe there was a hearing, where they were told that if they wanted to appeal, then they would have to ask the Court to grant them leave.
At the moment, the matter is not appealed, nor have they even been granted leave (or applied for leave) to appeal, as far as I know.
If you paid your fee, then Excel have lost nothing, and are not entitled to charge you a penalty in any event.0 -

One per day. They can re-ticket you if you leave the vehicle overnight.
As for the other question (and also the question of validity of the bays, ticket and signs), go to https://www.pepipoo.com.0 -
A few years ago I thought I was parked ok for a night out in kingston, 4 weeks later I got a 28 day unpaid reminder in the post for a ticket I never recieved on my car, I appealed and even went to the police for cctv to prove I never had a ticket on my car but the police only keep cctv for 6 months, they never answered my appeal till 7 months. I ended up paying £120 for a ticket I never recieved as every time I wrote a quick response letter back they took weeks to reply and kept putting it up.
I even took photographs of the area I supposidly parked in as I looked into the highway code and legal road markings and everything, apparently I parked in a disabled bay, I know for a fact I didnt as there were roadworks next to wear I parked,
oh it makes me so angry even now,
Is there anyway I can still trace it and get my money back?!0 -

Don't know if they can help you now but its still worth giving a shot at Pepipoo, with their in depth knowledge it might be possible. Still worth doing if you get another in the future.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I received a PCN through the post after being captured on CCTV waiting on a single yellow line. Someone told me that CCTV could only be used in areas where CEOs would usually find too difficult to access i.e. the street had narrow or no pathways. I was on a high street with massive pavements on either side, can I appeal?
They also neglected to fill in any details on the make and model of the car, is that grounds for appeal? Theoretically someone could have duplicated my reg plate.
Any help gratefully received0 -
I recently got a parking ticket, the place I was parked, had no parking
restrictions what so ever, lots of other cars parked in a line also.
We all got tickets from a police man claiming we were causing an obstruction,
which was a complete lie.
Anyway on peoples advice, I went to court and appealed against the ticket.
I had to win, I though, I had photos taken on the day,
Anyway I put a report together and sent it to the court, ( I could not attend on the day because of work reasons)
What did I get, a £270 fine payable within 30 days.
They must think I rich (Im not, no Christmas presents for my kids this year
any donations, to help pay it ? )
Well thats justice for you
So I lost, the most it should be is ' the orginal fine, plus costs'
How can they justify over 6x the original fine.
Makes me feel very annoyed towards the police and court system.0
