I parked taking up 2 bays to allow me to get my pavement disabled scooter in and out of my car via a side ramp.I displayed my disabled badge. There were approx., 200bays, of which 150 were empty. All 4 of the disabled bays were in use. Yes All 4 OF THEM.
I was in the store for 7 minutes. There was a ticket on my car when I came out for £50 but reduced to £25 if I paid quickly. If I see a car parked near a line making a bay narrow, I go somewhere else. Had there been enough disabled bays, I would not have had a problem. 4 in a 200 bay car park, is not meeting the needs. This was a private store, but the Rochdale council owned the car park. My appeal failed.0 -

I appealled and sent photographs of the virtually invisible lines and the lack of a t-bar at the very end of the line.
I also did the same when the lines were not visable becasue of heavy rain, which cleared by the time the 'alien' gave me a ticket. photos and appeal and tribunial etc, but I ended up paying, coz they have the last word.
I also asked them for the measurements they took to be sure that my car was over half way on the line (that I couldnt see)....another possible get out clause.
Be Warned - if you don't know this then take note - on their records they note down where the air valves are for 2 of the tyres, so if you do move your car then can catch you!
The more we object to these aliens the more time they will waste doing paperwork, and the more likely they will give up.......maybe
I appealed in February and still not heard....they gave me 14 days...and so did I - and now they can put it where the sun dont shine
all the best now0 -
Can I suggest that it be made possible for users to make individual threads on this forum.
With so many people posting on one thread it is almost impossible to follow an individual case, which makes it very confusing both for the OP and anyone offering advice, as well as anybody viewing, looking for a similar situation to their own.0 -

Hi Everyone,
Please can someone give me some advice on this parking matter. On the 4th October 2008 I made a mistake and parked in a suspended bay anyway my car was towed and i had to pay £260 to get my car out, now as far as i was concerned that was the end of the matter, Yesterday 12th November 2008 i received a PCN stating that this penalty charge had not been paid and i now have to pay £120 within the next 28 days but ithought that £200 was for the towing of the car and the £60 was for the fine. Can someone advise me please is this right.
Thanks guys for all advice.

Orford, that facility is already here.
Look at the forum index listing, Forum Tools, Post New Thread.
My point was that anybody with a parking ticket problem is posting on this thread, so all one person's posts posts are interspersed with all the others. If for instance you want to follow Dosbody's post and replies they are spread over 4 pages mixed up with other cases, making it almost impossible to follow. And that situation is likely to get worse as more people post here.
IMO It would be far better to make Parking a separate forum, given that on Penalty Charges and CAG the parking Forums are huge, things could get very messy and confused, especially as MSE have put up a Ticket Appeals Guide and are promoting it in the Newsletter0 -

Please look at posts 1 and 2 for your first port of call.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Hi there, persecuted drivers, could anyone help me out, and let me know where I can find out about the legal sizes signage and markings for parking/loading bays, please,????
do bay signs have to be facing the carriageway, or can they face along the pavement??
I was parked in a loading bay on a red route in a white box, with 7 mins on the ticket, is that a reasonable time to be able to load from a busy high st back to a side street do you think???
I would appreciate any help in saving the fine if possible, thanks and good luck to everyone.0 -
I refer my learned friend to the above post 71I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
