Trying for a baby (12+ M/not straightforward)

In this colder weather with the heating being turned up i would sometimes end up breathing through my mouth as the air is so stuffy, so that affected my temps. The first day I charted was CD 6 - I'm on 11 now, and for the last 3 days I've had 35.7, 35.8 and 35.7 again today - so wondering if the odd temps were caused by tonsillitis & flu-ey ness I had at the start? Fingers crossed! I was trying to take them in my mouth but I was so stuffy I was breathing through my mouth so I was sure it was messing things up! So, I've got a new thermometer and am taking it from my armpit [nice huh!] & hoping & praying that I will O this month

On a comlpete tangent, has anyone else found themselves wanting to get married before having a baby but having a non-compliant OH? See I would really like to get married before we have a baby [though if baby arrived any time soon I would be absolutely over the moon] and have been telling OH this for the last 12-18 months or so, but he doesn't seem to care and says we will 'one day' - really beginning to wind me up because I really feel like if he wants to make a baby with me he should really want to marry me!! Anyone else experienced this? How can I coax him?! Or am I just far too old fashioned in wanting to get married first

No you're not old fashioned.....I call it traditional. I was exactly the same.

I had to wait until our 10 year being together anniversary for him to ask me :eek: To be honest though I probably didn't help myself by keep telling him that if we didn't ever get married I would have stayed with him regardless.
Though like you, I wanted to be married before having a family.

He said he always knew he wanted to marry me but was lazy about getting it sorted. Then his Mum died in Jan 2000 and he realised just how short life was so asked me in Feb 2000.
That was a sunday night.....by the monday morning the church and reception hall was booked :rotfl:

We married 15 months later but it wasn't until 5 years ago we started TTC.

Hi ladies,Hope you are all well.Not really got any news, feel like maybe the dreaded Af is coming, got burning like pain radiating across lower back, had that since last night and continued through to today, its not one of my usual pre af symptoms but i find that anything goes with me and my body :rolleyes: Also got (TMI) a weird sharp pain that feels like its coming from inside my bb through to my ni*ple ?! Ive def not had these before but again, no doubt AF gonna show up and yet again i'll feel stupid for another month If no sign of AF i'm gonna test with FMU tomorrow so we'll see, and i'll let you know.

Gymfiend, i agree with you totally about marriage before a baby, i think it's a personal preference, but it's something that i would like. I met OH in 2001 and we got engaged in 2002, as we were young then, 17/ 18, OH said that we would get married in 2006. I thought fair enough, i'll go with that....Well as we know its
2009 and i'm still engaged to him. There's always something more important...MEN! I wouldnt mind if i wanted a huge fancy wedding, but i dont. I just want a simple, small and quiet wedding at reg. office....oh well, wonder what will come first...baby or marriage! :rotfl:

A close cousin told me a few months ago she was expecting her 5th, her second since we have been trying.
She said she had to work herself up to telling me as she didn't want to upset me. I understand how she felt but in all honesty I'd rather just be told, not mollycoddled like I will implode at the thought of someone else being pg


Just say to them that you wanted them to be the first to know you are pg. You didn't want it being blurted out insensitively by your parents so wanted to just make them aware.

You shouldn't feel bad at all about being pg. I told my cousin to stop being a silly !!!!!! and enjoy her pg

But then I suppose I have a thick skin and can take it......only you know how they will react.

Well i gave in and tested( why do i have no willpower at all when it comes to testing, i know full well to use FMU!?!) anyway, got a BFN, so am just gonna sit it out and wait .
I havnt got a clue whether AF is actually late or not, so don't know where i stand and when to test again?! I've had no more spotting since that on monday.

PeachyJem, Hope you get the result you want - try again in a few days. First thing in the morning wee is the best as it is the most concentrated. Different tests pick up different levels of hormone - some are 10 and some 25, so if you leave it a couple of days you should pick up something then. If you are thinking implantation bleed for the spotting, I would wait until 7 days after this to test - but I am hopeless and cant wait, so do whatever you feel best and will make you happy!!!!!! Good luck

Thanks lilo, I did manage to get some 10 preg tests, but as they are only £1 tests i don't know if this is actually the case Thanks for the advice for testing 7 days after what i'm hoping and praying was an implantation bleed, i will do that if AF hasnt turned up, which will be Monday and will be CD 34 by then.Might even get OH to hide the test so i can't do it over the weekend as they seem to whisper my name like the seven sirens and draw me in :rotfl: Just can't help thinking to myself that every symptom/sign i've got is like nothing i've ever had /felt before. I will feel sooo stupid if AF turns up....

Thank you all for listening to me, i think OH gets fed up sometimes, and also hate getting his hopes up almost every month.

Chin up Jem - if its any consolation, we are all as bad as each other!!! When you want something sooooo much, its all you think about!

If you really want to test over the weekend, and you have the tests, do it!! If it will make you happier there is no right or wrong - everyone is different, and their hormone levels react differently, so will show at different times.
