FairyElephant - hugs to you.... As many as you want!
Lilo - sorry to hear your news - I am sorry I didn't notice it last time... Hugs to you!
I am really happy for you myaccount! I wish we got more happy news of BFP on this thread - it helps us (me) to keep sane mind.
I think there is no chance of BFP here. A stray of blood in CM on Sunday, a bit more on the wipe yesterday and more today. AF didn't start properly yet, but I am convinced it is on its way. I think I don't believe I can get pregnant anymore. I was feeling pretty sick last week for a few days, but that must have been food. And had extrutiating pain in my nipples one day, but it must be just the mind playing tricks on me!!!!! It is CD27 today and I actually did a test last night, which obviously was negative.

For those having HSG's soon....heres my experience and advice.
I have had 2 now and the second one was much easier to cope with as I knew what to expect.
You are laid down on a bed and a speculum is inserted. Then a very fine tube is inserted into the vagina through the cervix. The speculum is removed and the Doctor then puts the xray thingy over your tummy area. As the dye is injected through the tube they watch its progress on the xray machine.
Personally for me the dye stung like mad as it was going in but as said before, no worse than a very bad period pain.
Once its over the tube is removed and you are sat up.
At this point the dye comes out and for me there was quite alot of it. After the second one I knew what to expect so I had my knickers ready near to me with a heavy period pad already inside. They do give you tissues to mop up but not enough of them IMO.
At my second one I took along with me a spare pair of knickers, wet wipes, a few heavy period pads and some paracetamol.
The hospital I had it done at was over an hour away so I didn't want to get stuck all messy without plenty of sparesHubby commented that I was only going for an hour or 2.....not overnight
For me my tummy area felt sore for a day or 2 and I did have a little bleeding but then my cervix has always been prone to spotting when having a smear so I wasn't surprised.
I know everyones experience will be different of these kinds of things and taking all the wipes, pads and knickers is probably worse case but rather be prepared than not.
I hope what I have said hasn't scared/worried or put you off but I really wish I had gone to my first one knowing what to expect.
Oh and you should be told straightaway what the result is. Mine were both perfectly normal.

i shall read my daily digest of posts, but rarely posting but good luck to you all xxx:A

Hi all, thank you again for all the messages of support. I am just about keeping up with you. I feel a bit brighter now, and hopefully after I find out what is going on next week, I will know a bit more about what the future holds. I am asking my GP to refer me for counselling, so that if I can no longer ttc, I have the support I need to reassess and readjust my life.
But that is all a bit irrelevant now I have heard FEs news, I am so sorry - I was as delighted for you as if I had the BFP and I am devastated that if has not worked out. Please, hang in there, your time will come dont give up hope, and you and your OH, look after yourselves please hun.

Sorry myaccount08, I didnt mean to miss you - congrats on the BFP and try and keep relaxed. I second nottslass, they CANNOT disclose to your GP without your sayso, and I too would not stop the other stuff motoring on until you are quite happy that things are progressing well. Try not to worry.

Plumpmouse - normally you should have an HSG before any Clomid as the whole point is to check your tubal patency. If there's blockage then it couldn't work anyway. From everything i've read it only tends to hurt those who have a blockage, as it often manages to clear it out. I was only saying 2 pages ago that soo many women fall on an HSG cycle

HI
Thanks all, some good advice given. I liked to be prepared for what to expect. Not worried about it but just like to know.
My consultant was happy to give me clomid with no tests as he said the fact I had my son was an indicator that my tubes are ok. He wants to due one now before injections as obviously they are more expensive and have more side effects. He may also drill my ovaries depending on what happens but we will have to see.
Thanks again allGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
I really wish I'd found this thread before all my appointments started, its nice being able to bounce stuff off of each other and talk to others in the same boat. Where I am I have no relatives of my own around and only a couple of friends, non with children. Although I work in Mothercare no one there has been through IVF so I feel very out of it sometimes. I wish I had the HSG info before I went in as I really didnt know what to expect and was a little anxious for something that turned out to be very simple. I'm sure I'll have lots more questions in the coming months as I start my IVF and its good to know you guys are here. Thanks for being so welcoming, this is deffinatle one of the friendliest places I have had the pleasure of posting on my ventures through the WWW.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Congrats Lady A!
Don't forget there's a MSE wedding thread on here - I found it really useful.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
Hi guys,
Congrats to Lady A on the proposal!
How did your appt. go today, myaccount? (it was today, wasn't it?)
I had my smear this morning, and DH has booked us in to talk to the doctor next week, as it is a whole year (and currently cycle 14) since we started ttc. I feel a lot more positive than I ever thought I would at reaching this milestone - there's such a supportive atmosphere on this thread, and such a wealth of advice, knowledge and experience, that I feel like I'm ready to just get over the fact we didn't manage it within a year, and I think (hope) I have a good idea what to expect from going to see the doc next week. I can't thank you all enough! :A

I just read Somnium's post saying almost the same - there's a lot of love in the room today! rofl0 -
Congrats Lady A
Aww (((group hug)))
I think as you're approaching 12mo you begin to worry about things, then it's sort of a shock when it actually happens and you realised you're not in that 80%. For some reason i also felt abit better once it passed, like we could get help and it took the pressure off abit somehow. IDK, hard to explain! There is a further percentage who just take that bit longer though, i've read of alot of women who take between 1-2 yrs. Nothing "wrong" with them, just natures way.
The clinic was nice inside, i'd had them in mind for treatment but they are abit out of the way. They had me fill in all the registration forms, I didn't fill in our GP details though and ticked the "no" permission box. They took me into the u/s room for the bloods and got me overly excited lol. The nurse and assistant really probed me for info on the NHS and our treatment and loss history. I'm really hormonal just now so i had to politely explain i don't want to dwell on things. They looked at me like i had 2 heads when i said i didn't want to tell my GP and lose our treatment. I guess they would prefer the custom themselves. Sorry im rambling... the results are really good. Almost too good. They are showing i'm 5 days further on that i actually am. I know the actual date of conception so it has me abit worried about a molar pg or blighted ovum. I'm SO shocked at how high they are, still can't believe it's real. I'm going back again on Friday for another beta, hopefully all will be well and i can calm down a little bit!0
