My BMI is way too high - it is 33 and I know I have to loose a lot of weight, but I am hopeless in it... I do have Wii fit, but can't find time to do it - I already get up at 6 am and get back home at 6pm, so by the time we had dinner, not much time left... Need to try harder - I know I need to loose 4.5 stone to get to the healthy range... A bit of a challenge for this year!
You'll find the motivation when you need it, mine is the IVF. As for the Wii Fit it wont work miracles you do need to combine it with healthy eating. I've tried to convince my self I'm not on a diet, just eating sensibly and I find that really helps as I don't want to kick my self when I do splurge. The other thing I've found is that eating sensibly is way cheaper so its had two good effects and again that helps with the motivation. Even when I hit 29 (BMI) Im still gonna keep going, I dont expect to get to my ideal weight but a nother stone or so is a start.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Hi all. Firstly, please be gentle with me, im a lurker on these boards
Hope you dont mind me posting here and invading your thread , just got to the stage now where, i need to talk to people that understand what its like as even though i can talk to my OH, it'd be nice to talk to ladies that are going through it too. My friends are super fertile and don't understand.lol.
Well, im 24 and i've been with OH for nearly 8 years(in feb). We've never had any luck in conceiving, my doctors have been useless. Keep getting told im too young, etc etc! After being 13 days late and AF showing up yesterday and being heartbroken again at not being pregnant,i thought i'd finally pluck up the courage to come and join you, if thats ok? Had so many pregnancy symptoms, i really thought that this month was the month. However im up at this late hour because i have very heavy and extremly painful periods, and i just couldnt sleep through the pain. A few years ago my doctor was going to send me for a scan to see what was going on but they never followed it up and neither did i, and we just carried on with life, hoping that one day it would happen!! Now i've realised that something is seriously wrong after all these years and need to get it sorted!
After doing a bit of research tonight, i think it could be possible that i have endometriosis or maybe PCOS??, could explain alot. Im also type 1 diabetic and that also comes with its own complications. I've now decided that enough is enough and going to the doctors next week and try to get this sorted. I can't bear 1) the painful, heavy periods anymore and 2) the heartache of not conceiving. I feel like a failure, in that my body feels useless. Can't produce insulin OR babies.....
Phew! sorry for such a long post, just wanted to introduce myself.
Sending you all lots of babydust

Welcome PeachyJem I'm new to the place too and I can assure you everyone here is extra lovely and you'll be fine. I'm a little further along than you and am about to start IVF in the next few months. I would deffinatley push your doc for further investigation, you may find that its not as bad as you think. Some of us are just unlucky! I would also give your OH a kick up the bum too, but thats just me hehe.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Welcome Jem ((hugs)). I have major AF issues and PCOS and was also fobbed off by GPs for many years. Good on you for being more forceful
You said you were nearly 2 weeks late, do you know when you ovulated or was AF just later than usual? It's practically impossible for your luteal phase to be 4 weeks long without pregnancy to sustain the corpus luteum. Perhaps a chemical? If you don't already i would suggest tracking your ovulation and getting a semen analysis, that will give you a much better idea of what's going on. Best of luck with it all, hope you get things sorted soon.
I'm anxiously awaiting results from the fertility clinic to see if it's a molar pg0 -
Hi PeachyJem
I've only just started to look into this thread. Like you I am only quite young (26) and also have extremely painful and heavy periods, so I can relate completely to what you are saying.
Have you asked if you can see a different doctor who would refer you and your partner for tests?0 -
Hi all, thanks for your welcomes
:D myaccount- Usually i'm quite good with knowing if i OV'd but for last month i can't remember! typical eh! I've downloaded an ovulation calender and also just started using fertility friend, when i get some cash, gonna invest in a thermometer too.Not only for charting but i think it'l be nice to know what my body is up to.
The last time i had a late period with preg symptoms (about a year ago), i had extreme pain when AF came, it was that bad i phoned the nurse at the doctors( i never phone the doctors!) and she dismissed it as a heavy period but i thought differently.I also had alot of pregnancy symptoms then too. But i thought that i should agree with the professional and put it down to a periodSo maybe i have/ can get pregnant but just have alot of difficulty??
I feel stupid for asking this but is a chemical pregnancy, when you conceive but it doesn't stick?
Congrats on your bfp myaccount!:j what a great start to the year, wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months!
Bunnie- i'm going to see how it goes sometime next week with my doctor and if still no luck then im going to change doctors i think.
Thanks again for making me feel welcome, it's really cheered me up, was starting to get down about not having people to talk to about the whole thing.

Jem, TBH unless your AF is spot on regular those online things are very misleading. I used the Ov tests of ebay's "lookersgirl" and a BBT therm is only about £3 i think. I don't trust one or the other as with PCOS you can get alot of false positives and dodgy temps. The 2 together worked really well for me though. Bloods tests 6-8dpo are best to confirm but i know some GPs are rubbish with this. I think charting is great, it can tell you so much about your reproductive health.
You're right a chemical is when the pregnancy is lost during of shortly after implantation. M/c are devastating, but if you ever think you're having one it's worth taking a sensitive preg test as the hormones are still in your system for days>weeks after the bleeding stops.
Thank you for the congratsWe're aren't telling anyone "in real life" so it's really great to be able to let t out somewhere lol. Unfortunately i've had 5 pregnancies, all with losses, so i'm very anxious right now that number 6 will be healthy. My levels are very high for my conception date, one of the main signs for a molar pregnancy. Basically a baby doesn't develop, but the would be placenta acts like a cancer. Depending on the type it can be treated with surgery and sometimes chemo but you have to wait a full 12 months before TTC again (too late for us). I'm praying so hard right now that these levels come back normal. I just wish we'd be blessed with a healthy bean. Got another 2 hours to wait for the phone call, it's dragging in!

Hello all. I haven't been on this thread for a while as I've just been feeling too despondent. I got a letter from the hospital on Christmas Eve (the due date of my baby I lost to miscarriage las year, nice timing) telling me that I have a fairly rare blood-clotting condition called Factor V Leiden. It's presumably what's behind my two miscarriages last year. What is most upsetting is that my consultant is telling me the only treatment is aspirin - which I was taking anyway. I can't bear the idea of getting pregnant again without any extra medication/help. Why would this time be any different? I have an appt with her to discuss all this on 23rd. I know in teh states some people take heparin; she says it hasn't been proven to help. I feel frustrated and disillusioned. How did I manage to have my son? (apparently this condition is aplayer in early onset pre-eclampsia, which I had with my son. Would have been nice if someone had tested me for it back then, eh?)0

I didnt know what a molar preg was so googled it and im keeping everything crossed for you and i'll have a little word with him upstairs lol. I really am wishing you all the best with it!
I think with how complicated pregnancy can be, i dont know how anyone conceives at all :rotfl:I'm learning new things all the time!
My cycle isn't spot on regular, i'd say its every 28-32 days most months. Only really using the calenders for a very rough guide. I was quite surprised at the price of a basal thermometer! Thought they were gonna be loads more expensive!I never looked before because i had my head in the sand kinda thing. But i want to be pro active in this now. x

PeachyJem - I would definitely push for testing from your GP - blood tests for you and SA for your partner. And mention to them your concerns about the diabetes possibly affecting fertility as well as suspicions about PCOS. If they won't follow up on it, find a new GP. I know it sounds a bit harsh - but honestly, if you have these concerns and they're not doing anything, they're no good to you. Hopefully they will be able to isolate something incredibly simple and easy to fix and that will be sorted for you.
myaccount - still keeping sticky healthy baby vibes going for you! we've had 4 losses, so I understand how anxious this part of the pregnancy is for you. Hopefully you'll have good news soon.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
