Don't feel guilty for your BFP - you deserve it as much as anyone else. And it's really comforting to hear that everyones storys are different, it seems that it's only ever straightforward for those who just have to look at a willy to conceive!

That means alot. I had a good cry yesterday because i felt so bad to have a bfp, i just wish i could give you all one. Not sure your OH's would like me getting you all knocked up though LMAO :rotfl:

it'll be interesting to see if the HSG agrees with her or not! I've not really taken much notice of the sore bits and how they correspond with ttc to be honest. In fact I completely fell asleep at my last session!

It will be good to see! I only noticed it all because i wanted to check it out after and make sure it wasn't all a load of rubbish :o I always have to stop myself falling asleep because i know i'd drool or do something else even more embarassing lol

She supposedly really worked my hormones at the last session, one day after af started, and the following day I just broke down in tears for no reason. I never do that normally, so I can only assume that the therapy had something to do with it.

Same thing happened to me! I was really tearful for about 2 weeks though, from the start of this cycle. I couldn't figure out why, probably some sort of release from it.

I showed DH a 'mooncup' in Boots this lunchtime to illustrate what I was trying to explain to him earlier... he thought I'd lost the plot!!! I think I just won't tell him if I go down that route ;o)

I think that's the way to go ;) I suggested real egg whites to DH once and i think he was ready to leave me lol. The things we'll do eh :rotfl:

I think thats what I had last year the name certainly rings a bell. I tried to put it off due to it not sounding very nice and the risk of infection, but I decided down the line that it needed to be done so I knew where I stood. Fortunatley for me the Xray showed everything was perfect "text book example" doc said. What exactly did you want to know?

    Hi

    Thanks for reply.

Not really sure what I want to know. Supose I have been reading and a few people saying it hurts a lot. Not too bothered about pain as I can cope with it, but just wanting to know so I know what to expect.

Also been reading that fertility can increase after it for that cycle which is quite interesting.

Sorry if I'm rambling a bit
Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.
  • Oh FE, I'm so sorry to hear your news. There's nothing I can say to make you feel better, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you xx
  • Hi plumpmouse, I'm also in the running for a HSG so would be interested to know more. I've been doing a bit of online research today and I'm not too worried about it. The procedure sounds quite straightforward. I also read the bit about a possible increase in fertility afterwards, which sounds hopeful. Also somewhere it said that the dye being pushed through can loosen any light blockages that might be causing the sperm problems, don't know how likely that is, but again, it sounds hopeful...
  • Sorry, myaccount, I meant to add my congrats too, and hope all goes well for you.
Quite understand that you want to make as sure as poss that all is going OK before you let the GP know - in your position I would do the same.

Noo no need to say anything. You must be so heartbroken :( I know it could easily be me in your shoes any day now. I'm so sorry you've had to go through that. I've had losses in 5 pregnancies with DH so i know how awful it is, esp when it takes so long to get there each time. Not only for us but for our OH's too. Have they given any indication why? My early losses were hormonal (RPL), if it's recurrent that is usually why. My Dr is useless anyway which is why i'm pressing for tests myself privately. I hope your holding up ok **hugs**

Ok heres what I can tell you, it isn't a long procedure and your in and out quite quickly. It is painful but no worse than Period cramps and for me they went away in minutes. The people I had nurse/doc/xray tech were all very lovely.

My problems came about an hour after the Xray, I got the most excruciating cramps (which I'm told isn't normal). they lasted all that evening and they knocked me for six I was so tired I slept really late the next day. I was sore for the next few days and the cramps came and went for about 5/6 days. I did phone my doc at one point as I was worried I had an infection, but was told some people do occasionally have this reaction and to give it a week. Sure enough it didnt lkast past the 6th day.

I dont want to scare you but IMO its best to know what could happen, then unlike me you wont pannick so much if the worst happens. Apparently the cramps are a reaction to the dye they use for the xray, not everyone gets them the same. But don't be put off its well worth knowing and I was pleased I had it done.

    I hope that helps xx

  • Kenco - my pain is similar. It often takes my breath away (like today) and keeps me up all night in agony. I used to have to sleep lying on an electric blanket but can't even do that anymore. Sometimes sharp pains, really deep, but most the time it's a nagging cramping. I'm still terrified as to what's causing my pain, i really hope you get yours sorted soon.

Plumpmouse - normally you should have an HSG before any Clomid as the whole point is to check your tubal patency. If there's blockage then it couldn't work anyway. From everything i've read it only tends to hurt those who have a blockage, as it often manages to clear it out. I was only saying 2 pages ago that soo many women fall on an HSG cycle ;)
  • Sorry just saw i've repeated what's already been re the HSG. Only thing to add is that alot of clinics are using the ultrasound instead and that isn't meant to cause any pain at all. Suppose it depends on where you are and their preference.

Thanks Myaccount thats a pretty hefty list hehe, I knew most of the general ones it was those pertaining to this thread that had me scratching my head. I shall copy and past for referance.

Oh and to add to the icreased fertility after an HSG I was told that too, the nurse mentioned that it gives you good cear out! Her words!! My Cramps were a reaction to the dye thank god no blockages or the pain might have been worse eek! Hopefully you guys getting HSGs will have the Ultra Sound my Hospital did 50/50 as there still phasing it in, think it was just pot luck I had the Xray.

Hi all, havent been around much as nothing really to post, i have read some posts and some are so heartbreaking for you all, i do wish i had a magic wand.
i also had a hsg, and in my experience, was one of the most painfull things i have experienced, but.... it was also a mental relief to be finally told i could not concieve naturally, as years of laps and dyes, various tests always built my hopes up as there was never a final...well no its impossible look at other options/or yes its possible, try a b and c.

its kind of strange also, as if im correct..not sure i even am, but as its just the egg sperm collection mix together and reimplant (simple terms) i wont have to babydance? i belive i will need stimming drugs, and then the egg extraction then implantation, so i guess this shall put a lot less pressure on our relationship.

on a final note, oh proposed and were thinking of aug 09, then take the ivf after that, i hope you all get the bfp's you all so desire, also remember there are 70 odd yr old women go on to have twins via ivf, (i know its not an everyday thing) but there is hope.

i shall read my daily digest of posts, but rarely posting but good luck to you all xxx:A
