Have a good weekend, lilo
I'm 32, 33 in february. Not doing IVF yet but as soon as I lose some more weight we will be......that's if it doesn't happen naturally by then.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Just done my second ov test today as told, and I've had my LH surge this afternoon, which means the IUI will be cancelled as the clinic is shut on Sunday, so not only have we lost another month, and wasted £450 on non-refundable scans this month, we also won't get the benefit of seeing what is going wrong if it had failed anyway as the consultant had reassured us when we saw him on Thursday.
So, 2 months after our first appointment we are more than £1,000 down in fees to the clinic, and all I know is that my ovarian reserves are OK and that neither I nor OH have Hep C or HIV. Other than that zip.
I am really depressed this afternoon.0 -
I've just been catching up on news - been wondering all week how you got on Lilo... so very sorry that it wasn't the news you (and we all) hoped for. I can't even begin to imagine how you must be/have been feeling.
No news from me really. 21 day bloods were taken again this morning for the 2nd time. Hopefully they'll manage to put the results on my notes this time. Still waiting to hear that we've been referred. Does anyone know how long it might take from the doc sending the referral letter to us hearing from the clinic? I want to keep on top of things this time to chase them if necessary!
It took 4 months for us to hear from the clinic, and we booked an appointment for another 4 months time. So for us, that will put us at 18 months ttc. So with us, I really don't think we've waited that long...Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
Nikki that's really horrible news. It's awful that purely because of the day of the week all of that money and heartache is wasted. Big hugs.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Life really is a B*tch sometimes ! ! It just goes to prove how blooming expensive fertility treatment can be,both emotionally and financially.
Did they tell you at the start of treatment that there was a chance that the "timing could be wrong" and you'd still have to pay if they were closed ?0 -

We were told at the outset that we'd have to pay £700 + £350 for bloodtests for the cycle, but that if the iui had to be cancelled for any reason, we'd pay £450 for the scans if less than 4 (we had 2), and £550 if 5. The bloodtests only need to be done once. We weren't told until Tuesday that the clinic wasn't open on Sundays, and when we were in on Thursday we asked whether we'd be better off booking a double insemination on Saturday and Monday just in case this happened and were told that wasn't necessary  .
For the first consultation, when he recommended IUI as the way forward, we paid an additional £450.
Given that my cycle is fairly regular, and now knowing that the clinic is closed on Sundays, it seems that IUI isn't going to be an option for us, as I'm always going to be ovulating over the weekend, so its going to be more likely than not that I will always lose the chance. Looking online, I can't see anywhere in London posting their opening hours so if IUI is the right option its hard to know where to go to get it.
Not sure what to do now tbh. Is there any point in going back to see this consultant or am I just throwing good money after bad? He was very good first time round but that was 10 years ago, and to waste a grand and a half before we even get off the starting blocks particularly in this economic climate is a bit tough.
OH says we just try again unassisted this month, but given we've been doing that for the last year and a half with not a hint of a BFP I'm not sure why he thinks that's going to be any good0 -
Hi Ladies
Im about to embark on IVF again in December. Have 4 frozen embryos left and this will probably be our last time as i will the big 40 next year. Had two miscarriages via IVF this year - 8 weeks and 12 weeks. Trying to stay optimistic.
Do you have any idea when ET will be ? If everything goes to plan, transfer should be around the 17th DEC for me.0 -
gosh, those prices and all expences quoted are scary!!!
they really are not joking when it comes to ripping off vaunrable women whilst they are trying to achieved something that happens naturally in a lot of women. its disgusting they are allowed to get away with these prices. its so very unfair. like if your just joe blogs thats is not a millionaire...its terribly hard to get these funds together, im starting to feel for the people that really just cannot afford this. i hope you all get your bfp asap. im really starting to dread all this treatment tbh. being a pin cushion, internal stuff emotional stuff financial stuff, hopefully it will be worth it for us all (well i know it will be) hugs xxx:cool:0
