Thanks - it's nice to know I'm not completely do-lally!
I am really shocked, but not totally surprised by the reaction from your GP. Some doctors seem to behave like diagnosing a mc is the same as diagnosing 'flu or a broken leg! Maybe a call to the gynae dept or EPAU at your local hospital to check what should be happening would be a good idea. There could be a number in your maternity paperwork for a midwife (sorry, I can't bring myself to look at mine to see - maybe your OH could look for you?) You need answers to your questions, and I'm sure you should be offered emotional support if nothing else. I have been given a booklet by the hospital with advice and numbers to call for support/counselling etc.
I'm sorry you've had the upsetting experiences with the paperwork, and the dress too.
I'd better go an ring for my results - like you said, I'm hoping for some closure.

Hi Nikabella i am so sorry to hear your sad news. They can do a blood test to measure the hcg levels to check that they are coming down and they will monitor how much you are bleeding. Take the time to grieve as it is really important. If feel as though you want additional support then you can speak to the miscarriage association they helped me. Take care and look after yourself at this hard time.0

We summoned up the courage & have called the EPAU to check that I wasn't supposed to be having any scans or HCG tests etc, as my friend who has had 3 miscarriages was horrified that no-one wanted to check I was ok. The EPAU told my OH that my GP should have been more supportive but that they didn't need to see me, their advice is to wait a week or 2 & do a pregnancy test but that if it comes back positive that I must urgently see the GP as this is a bad sign! Surely this isn't right?! If I wait until then any remains would have been left inside me for a couple of weeks which can't be a good thing.
AnnieM, I hope you have got the results that you needed & that everything is ok with you - I mean as ok as it can be.
homeaway, my OH has told work that we don't think I will be emotionally up to returning tomorrow so I will have from now until next tuesday to make sure I feel strong enough. I spent most of Monday & Tuesday in tears & felt unable to cope, after I actually lost the baby though & spent an hour or so coming to terms with it I started to feel a lot better. I feel much stronger than I expected but am worried that this might mean I haven't grieved as much as I should have. Although I have only had to be around OH so far & once I actually see other people & have to talk about it it might all fall apart.

Nikabilla, I am so sorry to hear your news. I still have a pair of maternity pjs in a cupboard upstairs from my last mc - I just dont know what to do with them!
I too am shocked by the responces you are getting - I had a scan to identify that my bean had died, I opted to have a 'natural' mc, and then I had a further scan to make sure that it had all come away. If they are not offering a follow up scan, it is important that you contact your doc if you start to feel unwell in any way. You could be bleeding for a heavy period or a couple of weeks - It seems to be individual on this. Try and and take it easy, and just be very gentle with yourself. There is no right or wrong way for you to grieve, but try not to sweep it under the carpet, you have lost your baby and that is a very tough thing to go through. And remember that one mc doesnt mean that you will have one next time - you will more than likely go on to have a healthy bean next time.
Hugs to all of you, it seems a tough time on the thread at the moment.

Nikabella, sorry it has turned out badly this time.
I am the same as everyone else, I would have imagined they would at least do one scan to see if anything remained there as I read that that can cause persistant bleeding and other issues.
Also, the whole doing a pg test in a few weeks and if it is positive then it is serious- I had a D&C/ERPC when I had a blighted ovum at 8 weeks and I knew my HCG levels hadn't come down enough after a few weeks as I was still getting positives on ebay cheapies and I hadn't ovulated (BBT-in fact I had an annovulatory cycle after the operation and didn't ov till the 2nd cycle so it must have taken a while for my HCG to come down) although I am not sure if the level should come down quicker after a natural mc?
I hope it all calms down for you soon and there will be no reason to have a scan- still appalled that you weren't offered one though.0 -
The responses are shocking. You just had mc and they are suggesting to do a pg test in a week or two!!!! How insensitive is that????
I am back from my appointment. Basically, I was just chatting with the nurse, she took full history, took some tests down below, and singed me off for another day 21 test, HSG, and an ultrasound. I should be able to do day 21 scan this month, ultrasound was arranged for May 15th, and apparently there is 12 week wait for HSG!!!!! That means, sometime in July. Anyway, she said they won't be waiting for HSG test to get me back for another appointment, so will so haw that goes.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Nikabella,I'm so sorry to hear your news, fortunately I've never experienced a M/C so I can only imagine what you and your OH are going through,as others have said take time to grieve and make sure you look after yourself mentally as well as physically.BTW I think that the bay tree idea is beautiful.

Hi Somnium,I start Down regging tomorrow,I've decided to inject instead of sniff this time - must be mad,but at least I'll know that I've taken the correct dosage if I sneeze !!!!
As for trying to loose weight,I know where you're coming from - I sill haven't lost the half stone I put on with my last cycle,so I'm desperately cutting back on wine and chocolate and making sure I go for a run every day.Although I wouldn't say I've got a weight problem,I've gone from a small size 10 to a 10/12.I know thats not massive, but I go on Holiday in early June and I'll be doubly miserable if I get a BFN and I've put on another clothes size, that in addition to having to buy a complete new wardrobe.
Good news though,my clinic came 2nd in the country for its IVF results so I'm trying to stay positive that It'll be my turn for a BFP !!!!!!!0 -
We'll all be thinking of you and praying for your BFP nottslass - after all the sad news on this thread news recently, we must be due to have some happy soon.
Good luck to you and somnium over the next few weeks.
