Hi everyone, good to be back!! I have had my op, and subject to the final test result on next Tuesday (have had the interim) I will have officially gone into remission, and as soon as I have had my 6 month all clear, can go back to ttc -Yay!!!! Dont feel too bad, a bit fragile - managed to collect another infection which knocked me out, but feeling a bit better each day.

Good to hear so many people are getting things sorted - lots of you having tests done, and fe and Nottslass getting ready for another IVF. I like the sound of the holidays, too.

Did you see the news over the last couple of weeks about the lifting of some of theIVF rules like the upper age, the rules are apparently going to be applied on a more case by case basis from June - I for one am definately going to try and get some funding if it is possible. Im going to see the GP when it gets to June to see if I can get a yes.

    Hugs to all Lilo

    Hi Lilo.

Good to see you back! How are you finding your recovery? Hard not to get up and do stuff?

My consultant said he has had a few ladies have the same op as us and got pg before their 6 month check!

I got my smear results back. They were normal...worrying over nothing as usual :D

I am delighted about your smear results, I meant to ask you in the last pm, I know you were worried. How long have you been clear now?

And Id love to be preg before my 6 month check, but it may have to be the immaculate conception - I am not sure when BDing will be back on the agenda after that!!!!

Great news lilo! Hope all continues to go well for you. An immaculate conception would definitely be a first for this thread, I think!

Thanks. I had my surgery on the 3rd July 2006 and my first smear following the surgery was in late October. In my mind I have been cancer free since the date of surgery.

I know what you mean. The first time we made love after the surgery I felt really nervous and we were using condoms for the first time in years...yuck :rotfl:

Somnium - the jabs are not too bad when you get used to them - Honest! I don't like needles but we managed fine (DH jabs me - no-way I can stick needles in myself!). Find it really useful to rub the area with an ice-cube or hold a cool-pack on it for a few moments first to numb the area, then you hardly feel it at all (and I don't do the inhalations, so I have jabs all the way through, and 2 lots a day when I am stimming!).

Well done Jiblets - and it seems like you may have part of your answer already. Maddening to have to wait another 10 weeks tho.....

Nottlass - thanks, we had a lovely meal in a local restaurant, and a few drinks in the pub too!
We have agreed to delay a month due to hols (well, we have agreed now - when I raised it with DH he thought we had already agreed, when actually it was just him!). I'm on CD28 today, so if AF plays ball and arrives in a couple of days time, then we'll start again with my next cycle which should start around 13th April, so day 19 would be 2nd May = Norehisterone, and day 21 would be 4th May = Buseralin, etc, etc, with EC around the beginning of June, so IF it all worked then = baby around this time next year (not that I have been counting or working it out of course - Ha Ha - as if!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
If we get as far as healthy embies then we are going for Blastocysts this time - slightly less chance of getting to ET stage, but more chance of success afterwards if we do. I'm also going to be on double-dose folic acid and mini aspirins from EC stage until 2 weeks after test day.

I've seen the counsellor again this week, and been to a group session last nite (where we were the oldest & most 'experienced' there  ) and it both seems to be really helping. Last nite's subject was weight, and I had a bit of a 'disagreement' with the 'specialist gynaecologist' over the BMI issue and some of the stats she was bandying about (you know what they say about "lies, da*n lies and statistics"......).
I think it is really positive that last nite I didn't get upset - I got cross! - which is much more me back to my old self again! And today I feel quite positive (although P'd off to have to be in wo*k!!!!!).

(((HUGS))) to everyone, have a good day!

FE Thanks for the advice re ice think I might try to pick up a couple of those tiny ice packs for lunch boxes that I've seen about. and its good to know its not so bad I think I'll probably do the injections my self, OH has offered but I know he hates needles! If your cycle goes ahead on those dates it will be the same time as mine and I worked out the dates too hehe, its so exciting, will keep my fingers crossed for us both. Also I'd be keen to know your thoughts on BMI/weight as being in the overweight category its something I'm keen to learn more about, specially as my weight loss has kinda slowed down recently.

Shelly & Lilo good to here your positive news I have my digits crossed for you both, and everyone else TTC too xxx

    Morning all,

Lilo Welcome back! So glad to hear that everything went to plan :) What brilliant news after everything :) Good luck with trying for the funding, the rules in this country are so odd. It seems crazy to have such a low upper age limit when so many women conceive naturally and have perfectly healthy children well into their 40's.

Nottslass will be keeping fingers crossed for you - all sounds good!

Becs I've still not been approved for the pituitary forum! I've had a good read through everything though so know a little more than I did before :) Some of the stories in there though, my God, enough to frighten the life out of me!!

I'm beginning to lose faith in our chances of conceiving naturally now, had a big cry last night before bed because I feel like I'm such a failure to my OH. Though he is very composed and doesn't get down, he's very good at putting things to the back of his mind. I wish I was, it plays on my mind 24/7, I'm eternally googling to see what else I can take/use/do to up our chances! I just feel on such a downer...and I'm so afraid I will be until I get a BFP, and in the meantime I'm not myself, I'm just a horrible, sad wreck! Everyone around me seems to be pregnant at the drop of a hat, without trying, and I seem to dedicate my life to it and get nowhere. :( Sorry for that dampener...hopefully it's just the stress of a cr*p week making me like this, and once 5pm hits I'll be happy again!!

On the bright side, OH agreed that we'd BD every day this month, as I am so confused as to when I ov, how long my LP is etc...so every day is the plan, he's also being very good at taking all his vits. So far I have him on Vit C & Zinc, is there anything else that would be good for him to take?

Hope everyone is ok today & sorry again for putting a downer on Friday morning, not what anyone needs is it!xxx

Gymfiend, how you feel is perfectly natural, and I think we all have these feelings at one time or another. Try and relax if you can. If you are BDing every day, you can do no more, so concentrate on going out/having fun with your man - everything you can think of that makes you feel good. The stress can cause you not to get pregnant! Try and believe that one day you will get that baby in your arms - and it will all be worth it.

On the subject of jabs, it also works if you scratch the skin just before you put the needle in - it activates the nerves and the dont notice the needle - it did work for me, and I hate needles too.
